TO SERVE THE PUBLIC OF PITT COUNTY, NC BY DIVERSIFYING PITT COUNTY'S ECONOMY THROUGH THE ATTRACTION OF NEW INDUSTRIES, EXPANSION OF EXISTING BUSINESSES, AND SUPPORT FOR START-UP ENTERPRISES THAT WILL BRING JOBS AND INVESTMENT TO OUR COMMUNITY; WILL ASSIST LOCAL GOVERNMENTAL AGENCIES IN FOSTERING ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT TO PROMOTE OPPORTUNITY, COMBAT UNEMPLOYMENT, COMMUNITY DETERIORATION, AND JUVENILE DELINQUENCY; WILL WORK WITH LOCAL GOVERNMENT AND OTHER ORGANIZATIONS IN THE REGION TO ESTABLISH AND MAINTAIN A STRONG BUSINESS CLIMATE; PROVIDE MONETARY SUPPORT FROM THE PRIVATE/BUSINESS SECTOR TO ASSIST WITH BUSINESS AND INDUSTRY RECRUITMENT AND RETENTION; ENCOURAGE AND PROMOTE THE LOCATION AND OPERATION OF DIVERSIFIED BUSINESSES, INDUSTRIES, AND MANUFACTURING IN PITT COUNTY; ACT INDEPENDENTLY OR IN CONJUCTION WITH OTHER ORGANZATIONS IN THE PROMOTION AND DEVELOPMENT OF THE ECONOMIC AND GENERAL WELFARE AND BETTERMENT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC; AND TO PROVIDE RELIEF TO THE POOR, UNEMPLOYED, AND UN
