ADULT PROGRAMS AND EVENTS - THE CHARLOTTE TENNIS ASSOCIATION OPERATES PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO INTRODUCE NEW PLAYERS TO THE GAME, AS WELL AS PROVIDE MATCH PLAY OPPORTUNITY FOR THE EXISTING POPULATION OF PLAYERS IN CHARLOTTE AND SURROUNDING AREAS. THE CTA PLANS, ORGANIZES, PROMOTES AND COORDINATES ALL ASPECTS OF PLAY AT AREA PUBLIC AND PRIVATE TENNIS FACILITIES. IN 2020 OVER 6,000 ADULTS RANGING IN AGE FROM 21 TO OVER 80 YEARS OF AGE PARTICIPATED IN THREE LEAGUES/PROGRAMS ORGANIZED BY CTA.
JUNIOR PROGRAMS - THE CTA OPERATES PROGRAMS DESIGNED TO INTRODUCE PLAYERS TO THE GAME, AS WELL AS PROVIDE MATCH PLAY OPPORTUNITY FOR EXISTING PLAYERS IN THE GREATER CHARLOTTE AREA. THE CTA ORGANIZES & PROMOTES ALL ASPECTS OF PLAY AT AREA PUBLIC AND PRIVATE TENNIS FACILITIES. THE CTA PARTNERS WITH MECKLENBURG COUNTY PARKS AND RECREATION TO HOST FOUR USTA SANCTIONED TOURNAMENTS FOR BEGINNING THROUGH HIGHLY RANKED COMPETITIVE PLAYERS. CERTAIN EVENTS DRAW PLAYERS FROM THE SOUTHERN REGION AND SUPPORT ECONOMIC IMPACT IN THE COMMUNITY. THE CTA COLLABORATES WITH AREA FACILITIES TO PROVIDE PLAY OPPORTUNITY THROUGH THE JUNIOR TEAM TENNIS PROGRAM FOR PLAYERS ACROSS ALL SKILL LEVELS. IN 2020 ABOUT 1,250 PLAYERS, AGES 6 TO 18, PARTICIPATED.
COMMUNITY OUTREACH PROGRAMS - THE CTA PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS SERVING UNDER-RESOURCED YOUTH, SUCH AS THE GREATER ENRICHMENT PROGRAM, WHERE TENNIS AND THE USTA A.C.E. CURRICULUM ARE A COMPONENT. THE CTA ALSO SUPPORTS PROGRAMS THAT SERVE INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES, INCLUDING THE LOCAL SPECIAL OLYMPICS TENNIS PROGRAM, ASAP WHEELCHAIR TENNIS PROGRAM, AND ACEING AUTISM.
