COMMUNITY INVESTMENT: 42 COMMUNITY VOLUNTEERS VISITING AND REVIEWING OVER 20 UNITED WAY AGENCIES, THEN MAKING THE DECISIONS ALONG WITH OUR 29 BOARD OF DIRECTORS AS TO HOW THE COMMUNITY'S GIFTS ARE TO BE ALLOCATED. THIS CITIZEN REVIEW PROCESS OFFERS UNITED WAY DONORS A LEVEL OF ACCOUNTABILITY OFFERED BY NO OTHER LOCAL CHARITY, A DIRECT ROUTE TO WHERE THE MONEY IS NEEDED THE MOST, AND MEASURED RESULTS. THESE PANELS ALSO MAKE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR THE AGENCIES' CONSIDERATION IN THE HOPES TO STRENGTHEN THEIR ORGANIZATION. UNITED WAY ALSO OFFERED A MANAGEMENT ASSISTANCE TEAM TO ASSIST.
