CHILDREN'S SERVICES - THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES A WARM, NURTURING ENVIRONMENT WITH FULL-TIME COTTAGE PARENTS WHO TEACH OUR CHILDREN BEGINNING INDEPENDENT LIVING SKILLS, SUCH AS ORGANIZATIONAL, MONEY AND TIME MANAGEMENT SKILLS, AS WELL AS SOCIAL SKILLS AND SELF ADVOCACY SKILLS. IT PROVIDES A HIGHLY-DISCIPLINED ENVIRONMENT AND POSITIVE FEEDBACK THAT ENCOURAGES ADOLESCENTS TO CHANGE NEGATIVE BEHAVIOR AND ATTITUDES TO BE MORE CONSIDERATE, AND RESPECTFUL OF NORMS.
FOSTER CARE/ADOPTION - THE CHILDREN'S HOME WAS LICENSED IN 2008 BY THE NORTH CAROLINA DHHS TO PROVIDE FAMILY FOSTER CARE. THE PROGRAM IS USED TO RECRUIT AND TRAIN ELIGIBLE FOSTER FAMILIES TO CARE FOR ABUSED AND NEGLECTED CHILDREN. THESE FAMILIES ARE LICENSED TO CARE FOR FOSTER CHILDREN TEMPORARILY, WHILE THEIR PARENTS WORK WITH SOCIAL WORK PROFESSIONALS TO RESOLVE THEIR FAMILY ISSUES. IN 2019, ADOPTION SERVICES WERE ADDED TO EQUIP OUR STAFF TO PROVIDE SUPPORT FOR FAMILIES WHO DESIRE TO PROVIDE YOUTH WITH A FOREVER HOME.
CASE MANAGEMENT - THIS PROGRAM PROVIDES CASE MANAGEMENT SERVICES BY PROFESSIONAL STAFF TO IMPLEMENT AND FOLLOW THE GOALS OF CHILDREN IN CONJUNCTION WITH THE PROBLEMS WHICH INITIATED PLACEMENT. IT ALSO STRIVES TO UNITE CHILDREN, FAMILIES, FWBCH AND DSS WORKERS TO PROVIDE CONSISTENCY OF CARE FOR PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, SPIRITUAL, FINANCIAL, AND EDUCATIONAL NEEDS. IT PROVIDES TRAINING AND SERVICES TO DEVELOP THE LIFE SKILLS NECESSARY TO LIVE PRODUCTIVELY AND INDEPENDENTLY, AND ENCOURAGES FURTHER EDUCATION THROUGH COLLEGE, JOB CORPS, MILITARY OR ENTERING THE WORK FORCE.
