THIS EVENT WAS A COLLABORATION WITH HAUS OF LACKS AND THE COLLECTIVE GSO, AND CELEBRATED ARTISTS, TEACHERS AND ACTIVISTS WHILE REFLECTING ON CHANGES IN THE CITY OVER THE PAST YEAR AND PERSISTENT SYSTEMIC RACIAL DISPARITIES NATIONWIDE. THE AFTERNOON'S PERFORMERS INCLUDE BRANDON GREEN, CHASYN SPARX, ATTICUS LANE, DJ MAC DAVILLE, DJ DLINKWENT AND OTHERS. JULY THE GREENSBORO HISTORY MUSEUM IS ONE OF TWENTY-SEVEN ORGANIZATIONS THAT HAVE WON ACCOLADES IN EIGHT CATEGORIES IN THE 22ND ANNUAL MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY MUSE AWARDS, PRESENTED BY THE MEDIA & TECHNOLOGY PROFESSIONAL NETWORK OF THE AMERICAN ALLIANCE OF MUSEUMS (AAM). GHM WON THE GOLD AWARD IN RESEARCH AND INNOVATION FOR ITS PIECES OF NOW PROJECT, THE JUDGES STATING, "POWERFUL, IMPACTFUL PROJECT THAT DEALS WITH DIFFICULT CONTEMPORARY SUBJECT MATTER IN A SENSITIVE WAY BY 'STEPPING ASIDE AND LETTING COMMUNITY VOICES BE HEARD. TOURGEE WAS A LAWYER, WRITER AND PIONEER CIVIL RIGHTS ACTIVIST KNOWN FOR HIS RECONSTRUCTION ACTIVITIES. IT WAS BOTH IN-PERSON AT THE GREENSBORO HISTORY MUSEUM AND LIVESTREAMED AND WAS PRESENTED ALONGSIDE A COMMUNITY VOICES DISPLAY ON THE AGGIE-EAGLE RIVALRY ORGANIZED BY THE NORTH CAROLINA A&T STATE UNIVERSITY DEPARTMENT OF HISTORY & POLITICAL SCIENCE AND F.D.
