LIBRARY SERVICES: THE CHARLES TOWN LIBRARY PROVIDED THE CITIZENS AND VISITORS OF JEFFERSON COUNTY WITH HIGH QUALITY LIBRARY SERVICES INCLUDING BOOK LENDING, PUBLIC ACCESS TO COMPUTERS AND THE INTERNET; ADULT EDUCATION PROGRAMS, AND NUMEROUS CHILDREN'S PROGRAMS, INCLUDING SUMMER READING.
MUSEUM SERVICES: THE JEFFERSON COUNTY MUSEUM MAINTAINS A COLLECTION OF ARTIFACTS AND DOCUMENTS THAT HAVE HISTORICAL SIGNIFICANCE TO JEFFERSON COUNTY. THE MUSEUM CONTAINS NUMEROUS ARTIFACTS RELATED TO THE WASHINGTON FAMILY WHICH HAVE BEEN USED TO ACCURATELY DOCUMENT DATES AND EVENTS OF THE WASHINGTON FAMILY HISTORY. THE MUSEUM CONTAINS ARTIFACTS RELATED TO JOHN BROWN. THE MUSEUM ALSO CONTAINS MANY ONE OF A KIND CIVIL WAR ARTIFACTS. THE MUSEUM RECEIVES VISITORS FROM ALL OVER THE WORLD AND PROVIDES SPECIAL TOURS TO GROUPS OF EVERY AGE.
