PROVIDE SIGHT AND HEARING CONSERVATION SERVICES IN WEST VIRGINIA

THE SIGHT FOUNDATION HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL IN HELPING PROVIDE LOW VISION DEVICES, HAND-HELD MAGNIFIERS, AND SPECIAL LENSES TO THOSE IN NEED. WE ALSO HAVE PROVIDED ASSISTANCE WITH CATARACT SURGERIES AND VISION CORRECTING CORNEAL TRANSPLANT. THE NUMBER OF VISION SCREENINGS HAS DOUBLED, EXPECIALLY SINCE PURCHASING NEW DEVICES. WE BOUGHT 2 MORE SPOT DEVICES FOR THE LAST DISTRICT. CLUBS HAVE BEEN DOING GOOD WORK IN SCREENING CHILDREN. IT WAS DISCOVERED THAT THE NEW DEVICES DONT WORK VERY WELL FOR OLDER ADULTS WHICH CLUBS SERVE AT STATE FAIRS AND OTHER ADULT ATTENDED SCREENINGS. THE BOARD VOTED TO PURCHASE A VISUAL ACUITY DEVICE FOR ONE DISTRICT TO SEE IF IT WOULD SERVE THOSE NEEDS. THE CLUBS IN THAT DISTRICT WERE VERY HAPPY WITH THE RESULTS AND THE SIGHT FOUDNATION PLANS TO PURCHASE ONE FOR EACH OF THE OTHER TWO DISTRICTS. ALL OF THIS HELPING THE VISION OF THE UNDERSERVED AND IMPROVING THEIR QUALITY OF LIFE.


THE LIONS SIGHT FOUNDATION ALSO PROVIDES HEARING AIDS FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD THE. THE SERVICES WE PROVIDE IMPROVE THE LIVES OF THOSE LESS FORTUNATE.
