TO PROTECT LIVES AND PROPERTY BY RESPONDING TO EMERGENCY CALLS OF STRUCTURAL, BRUSH OR FOREST FIRES, MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS, CHEMICAL SPILLS, SEVERE WEATHER DAMAGE SUCH AS DOWNED UTILITY LINES OR TREES, FLOODED STRUCTURES OR STREETS, OR OTHER HAZARDS, AND ASSISTING IN MEDICAL EMERGENCIES.

IN 2021 MEADOWVIEW VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDED TO A TOTAL OF 244 EMERGENCY CALLS. 83 OF THOSE CALLS WERE TO FIRE ALAMS, MOST OF WHICH TURNED OUT TO BE NOT REAL EMERGENCIES, 36 CALLS WERE TO SOME TYPE OF STRUCTURAL FIRES, 34 WERE FOR OUTDOOR FIRES SUCH AS BRUSH, GRASS OR FOREST, 58 CALLS WERE TO SITES OF MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENTS. NONE INVOLVED HAZARDOUS MATERIALS. 1 CALL WAS TO ASSIST A LOCAL LIFE SAVING CREW ON A MEDICAL EMERGENCY. THERE WERE 22 OTHER CALLS WHICH DID NOT FIT INTO THE CATEGORIES ABOVE. THESE MAY HAVE INCLUDED DOWNED TREES, POWER LINES AND OTHER TYPES OF STORM DAMAGE OR FLOODING.
