INCREASED OPPORTUNITIES TO AID NON-PROFITS IN DISSEMINATING THEIR MESSAGE THROUGH VARIOUS MEDIA CHANNELS, WHICH RESULTED IN THE PUBLISHING OF 149 MEDIA STORIES THROUGH OVER 6,000 MEDIA OUTLETS NATIONWIDE AND REACHING AN AUDIENCE OF OVER 117 MILLION PEOPLE, PLUS MILLIONS MORE VIA SOCIAL MEDIA. 15 OF THE STORIES WERE PRODUCED BY JOURNALISM STUDENTS AT UNIVERSITIES IN OHIO IN A MEDIA COLLABORATION WITH THE OHIO NEWS SERVICE, ONE OF 37 STATE- BASED BUREAUS OF THE PUBLIC NEWS SERVICE. THESE STORIES REACHED A CUMULATIVE AUDIENCE OF ALMOST 30 MILLION. 13 OF THE STORIES WERE REPACKAGED AND DISTRIBUTED STORIES IN A MEDIA COLLABORATION WITH THE NONPROFITS MARSHALL PROJECT, EYE ON OHIO, INSIDE CLIMATE NEWS AND THE THE CONVERSATION. THESE STORIES REACHED A CUMULATIVE AUDIENCE OF MORE THAN 30 MILLION. IN ADDITION, SUPPORT WAS GIVEN TO HELP LAUNCH A COLLABORATIVE NEWS SERVICE IN MISSISSIPPI WHICH HAS THE BANDWIDTH TO COVER THE NONPROFIT SECTOR IN THAT STATE.
