NORTHERN NECK CASA INVESTIGATES THE BACKGROUND AND CURRENT LIVING CONDITIONS OF CHILDREN WHO HAVE BEEN FOUND TO BE ABUSED AND/OR NEGLECTED. CASA ALSO INVESTIGATES CHILDREN WHO ARE FOUND TO BE "CHILDREN IN NEED OF SERVICES OR SUPERVISION- OR "CHINS." NORTHERN NECK CASA VOLUNTEERS ARE COURT ORDERED TO REVIEW ALL PERTINENT INFORMATION ABOUT THAT PARTICULAR CHILD (MEDICAL, SCHOOL, PSYCHOLOGICAL, SOCIAL SERVICES) AND REPORT BACK TO THE JUDGE OF THE JUVENILE COURT WHERE HE OR SHE, AS A TRAINED VOLUNTEER, VOICES HIS OR HER RECOMMENDATIONS ON THE BEST PLACEMENT FOR THAT CHILD. NORTHERN NECK CASA'S MAIN MISSION IS TO SEARCH FOR WHAT THEY BELIEVE IS IN THE BEST INTERESTS OF THE CHILDREN THEY ARE INVOLVED WITH.
