FAITHS VISION IS TO STRENGHEN THE COMMUNITY BY HELPING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES LEAD DIGNIFIED AND HARMONIOUS LIVES. OUR PROGRAMS INCLUDE EMERGENCY AID, SELF SUFFICIENCY, ORPHANS, AND DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. OUR THRIFT STORE AND FOOD PANTRY HELP WITH THESE PROGRAMS.

FAITH ASSISTS INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN NEED THROUGH ITS DEVELOPMENT OR GENERAL ASSISTANCE PROGRAM. THE ASSISTANCE MOST INVOLVES RENT, UTILITIES, FOOD, MEDICAL PAYMENTS, EDUCATION, VEHICLES AND COUNSELING. ASSISTANCE IS GIVEN TO THE NEEDY (USING FINANCIAL CRITERIA) WITHOUT PREJUDICE. CASES ARE EVALUATED IN ORDER TO ASSIST THEM TO BECOME SELF-SUFFICIENT. THIS OFTEN INCLUDES USE OF GOVT PROGRAMS FOR HOUSING AND FOOD, BUDGETING, AND JOB SKILLS ENHANCEMENT. GRANT FUNDS ARE AMOUNTS SPENT DIRECTLY FOR ASSISTANCE TO CASES.
FAITH ASSISTS NEEDY INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES IN CRISIS THROUGH ITS RELIEF OR EMERGENCY TEMPORARY PROGRAMS. NEED IS EVALUATED USING FINANCIAL CRITERIA WITHOUT BIAS. THE CRISIS IS USUALLY RENT, UTILITIES, MEDICAL, LEGAL AND/OR AUTOMOTIVE. EMERGENCY ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED ONE-TIME, ONCE A YEAR WITH BUDGET COUNSELING. TEMPORARY ASSISTANCE IS PROVIDED FOR 3-6 MONTHS FOR CLIENTS HAVING A SHORT-TERM DIFFICULTY SUCH AS BEING LAID OFF OR HAVING ILLNESS. FAITH ALSO MAKES FOOD AVAILABLE TO EMERGENCY WALK-INS THROUGH ITS FOOD PANTRY (PROGRAM LISTED IN 4D) AND MAY PROVIDE VOUCHERS FOR ITS THRIFT STORE (PROGRAM ALSO LISTED IN 4D). GRANT FUNDS ARE DIRECT EXPENDITURES.
FAITH ASSISTS INDIVIDULS AND FAMILIES VICTIMIZED BY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE (DV) THROUGH ITS SAFE AND PEACEFUL FAMILIES PROGRAM. FAITH PROVIDE CULTURALLY APPROPRIATE, HOLISTIC SOCIAL SERVICES TO THE VICTIMS OF DV AND THIER CHILDREN. BESIDES THE SERVICES OFFERED BY FAITH, THE CASE WORKER CONNECTS THEM WITH GOVT ASSISTANCE PROGRAMS FOR LEGAL REPREENTATION, SNAP, SHELTERS, AND HOUSING, SSI, TANF, ETC. OURS WAS THE FIRST DV PROGRAM IN THE THE TOWN OF HERNDON AND WORKS COLLABORATIVELY WITH MANY AREA ORGANIZATIONS. WE ALSO SELL AND DISTRIBUTE OUR BOOKS: WHAT ISLAM SAYS ABOUT DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. GRANT FUNDS ARE AMOUNTS SPENT DIRECTLY FOR ASSISTANCE TO CASES. AS NEEDED AND AVAILABLE, FAITHS SHELTER IS USED FOR TEMPORARY HOUSING.
