STRAY AND ABANDONED CATS AND KITTENS THAT ARE SCHEDULED TO DIE IN OVERCROWDED ANIMAL SHELTERS ARE TAKEN INTO 4PAWS ADOPTION PROGRAM. 4PAWS ALSO RESCUES CATS FROM THE STREETS AND FROM OWNERS WHO CAN NO LONGER CARE FOR THEIR PETS. THESE ANIMALS ARE CLEANED UP, SEEN BY A VET, AND CARED FOR BY VOLUNTEERS UNTIL PERMANENT HOMES ARE FOUND. CATS ARE DISPLAYED ON 4PAWS' WEBSITE, IN STORE ADOPTION CENTERS AND AT ADOPTION FAIRS SO THAT THE PUBLIC CAN MEET THEM AND TALK TO VOLUNTEERS ABOUT GENERAL CAT CARE. APPROXIMATELY 400 CATS AND KITTENS ARE ADOPTED INTO PERMANENT HOMES EACH YEAR.
