THE FOUNDATIN OWNS AND OPERATES A LIVING HISTORY MUSEUM ON A 20 ACRESSITE LOCATED IN GRAYSON COUNTY, VIRGINIA. OUR MISSION IS TO PRESERVE AND INTERPRET THE HISTORY OF GRAYSON COUNTY CIRCA 1900. THE GOAL IS TO PRESERVE ADN EXPLAIN THE ECONOMIC ADN CULTURAL HISTORY OF GRAYSON COUNTY AND THE SURROUNDING REGION, PROVIDING ONSISTE SCHOOL PROGRAMING AND DAILY VISITATION AND OTHER SCHEDULED EVENTS.

Part 3 - Line 4a

OUR PRINCIPAL PROGRAM IS TO OPERATE AND MAINTAIN THE PREMISES AS A CIRCA 1900 FARMSTEAD FOR DAILY VISITATION. MAJOR STRUCTURAL DAMAGE HAS BEEN AN IMPEDIMENT TO COMPLETING THE RESTORATION OF THE FARMHOUSE. WORK CONTINUES ON REPAIRING AND RESTORING THE STRUCTURE.


DAILY ATTENDANCE BY BOTH LOCAL AND DISTANT VISITORS IS PERHAPS OUR MOST IMPORTANT PROGRAM. APPROXIMATELY 800 HUNDRED GUESTS STOPPED BY AND WERE AFFORDED AN INTIMATE, DETAILED DESCRIPTION OF FARM LIFE AND THE REGION'S SOCIAL AND ECONOMIC HISTORY.


OUR THIRD MAJOR EFFORT IS DEVOTED TO SIX MAJOR SCHEDULED EVENTS, SCHOOL DAYS, AND SEVERAL ONGOING SEASONAL PROGRAMS INCLUDING DEMONSTRATION SATURDAYS, WEEKLY STORYTELLING FOR CHILDREN EVERY FRIDAY, AND A WEEKLY MUSIC JAM. VISITATION SI ESTIMATED AT 2,700.
