TO SUPPORT EDUCATIONAL, MUSEUM, HISTORIC PRESERVATION, AND RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES THAT IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE OF AREA RESIDENTS AND VISITORS INCLUDING ACTIVITIES TO ACQUIRE, DOCUMENT, AND DISPLAY MATERIALS THAT ARE HISTORICALLY IMPORTANT.

MUSEUM OFFERS HISTORICAL EXHIBITS TO PERSERVE THE HERITAGE OF MARITIME HISTORY OF THE LOWER CHESAPEAKE BAY AND WATERMEN WHO PLIED THEIR TRADE.


MUSEUM FLEET - ACCESSIBLE MUSEUM EXHIBITS VIEWED BY VISITORS AS PART OF THEIR WALKING TOUR. VISITORS MAY ALSO RIDE IN THE VESSELS TO OBSERVE THE CHESAPEAKE BAY AND WORKING WATERMEN.


EDUCATION - THERE ARE SEVERAL EVENTS WHICH VISTORS AND FAMILY MEMBERS CAN LEARN ABOUT AND CREATE THEIR OWN ART THAT CAN BE DISPLAYED AS PART OF THE MUSEUM TOUR. THE BOAT SHOP AND MODEL SHOP AND THE VOLUNTEERS WHO MAN THEM ARE THE MEANS BY WHICH THE EDUCATIONAL EVENTS ARE CONDUCTED FOR THE GENERAL PUBLIC. THE MODEL SHOP ITSELF IS ALSO AN EXHIBIT ON THE MUSEUM TOUR.
