Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
WE IMPROVE ANIMAL AND PUBLIC WELFARE VIA RESCUE, CARE, AND ADOPTION OF "HOMELESS" COMPANION ANIMALS VIA: OUR NO-KILL ANIMAL SHELTER AND FOSTER CARE NETWORKS; PET TRANSPORTATION FOR ADOPTION ELSEWHERE; SPAY-NEUTER-VACCINATION PROGRAM; TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN PROGRAM FOR UNSOCIALIZED CATS; ETC.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
CODE: 900099. THROUGH OPERATION OF OUR ALMOST HOME PET ADOPTION CENTER AND FOSTER-CARE NETWORKS, WE PROVIDED SOME 142 DOGS AND 420 CATS WITH FOOD, SHELTER, VETERINARY CARE, AND VACCINATIONS, STERILIZATION, ADOPTION, AND RELATED SERVICES. AMONG OTHER THINGS, WE: TRANSPORTED ANIMALS TO LOCAL VET OFFICES AND ADOPTION VENUES; MARKETED PETS FOR ADOPTION ONLINE; PRESENTED PETS FOR ADOPTION AT ALMOST HOME; HELPED TO RE-UNITE LOST AND FOUND PETS WITH OWNERS; DISTRIBUTED FOOD AND HOUSES FOR PETS OF LOW/NO INCOME OWNERS SO THEY COULD KEEP THEIR PETS; AND, WORKED WITH THE COUNTY GOVERNMENT'S ANIMAL CONTROL DIVISION TO TAKE 54 DOGS AND 21 CATS FROM THEIR CUSTODY, (MANY MORE CAME DIRECTLY TO US) SAVING MANY FROM EUTHANASIA.
CODE: 900099. WE FUNDED AND COORDINATED LOW/NO COST SPAY-NEUTER, TESTING, AND VACCINATIONS SERVICES (PERFORMED BY LICENSED VETERINARIANS) FOR APPROXIMATELY 58 DOGS AND 68 CATS OF LOW INCOME RESIDENTS ON A "PAY WHAT YOU CAN" BASIS, THUS IMPROVING ANIMAL HEALTH, AUGMENTING PUBLIC SAFETY BY INCREASING COMPLIANCE WITH RABIES VACCINATION REQUIREMENTS, AND AVOIDING GEOMETRIC GROWTH IN FUTURE NUMBERS OF "SURPLUS" COMPANION ANIMALS. TO THESE SAME ENDS, 160 "FERAL/UNSOCIALIZED" CATS WERE TRAPPED, GIVEN VETERINARY EXAMS AND SERVICES, STERILIZED, THEN RETURNED FOR CARE AT LONG TERM SITES OR BY THE "OWNERS" UNDER OUR TRAP-NEUTER-RETURN PROGRAM. ADDITIONAL TNR CATS THAT PROVED TO HAVE BEEN STERILIZED ALREADY WERE GIVEN RABIES VACCINATIONS, AND/OR FIV/FELV TESTS ONLY.
CODE 900099. THROUGH OUR PET RESCUE/TRANSPORT PROGRAMS, WE SAVED AND TRANSPORTED 65 DOGS AND PUPPIES, AND 175 CATS AND KITTENS, FOR ADOPTION AT COOPERATING SHELTERS IN AREAS WHERE PETS ARE IN DEMAND. PETS IN THESE PROGRAMS RECEIVE VACCINATIONS AND VETERINARY CARE. THOSE OF SUITABLE AGE ARE STERILIZED PRIOR TO TRANSPORT; YOUNGER ANIMALS ARE STERILIZED THROUGH THE RECEIVING AGENCIES PRIOR TO ADOPTION.
OTHER PROGRAM EXPENSES CONSISTED OF $2,895 FOR HALF THE COST OF THE ORGANIZATION'S SEMI-ANNUAL NEWSLETTER AND RELATED POSTAGE; AND, $507 FOR CREDIT CARD PROCESSING FEES ON PROGRAM SERVICE REVENUE. OTHER PROGRAM REVENUE WAS $0 FOR TY2022.
