THE NATIONAL DENTAL ASSOCIATION PROMOTES ORAL HEALTH EQUITY AMONG PEOPLE OF COLOR BY HARNESSING THE COLLECTIVE POWER OF ITS MEMBERS, ADVOCATING FOR THE NEEDS OF AND MENTORING DENTAL STUDENTS OF COLOR, AND RAISING THE PROFILE OF THE PROFESSION IN OUR COMMUNITIES.

NDA MEMBERSHIP SERVICES PROVIDES VALUABLE INDUSTRY AND PRACTICE MANAGEMENT INFORMATION TO ITS MEMBERS. MEMBERS ARE KEPT UP TO DATE WITH INFORMATION ON NEW TECHNOLOGY AND ORAL HEALTH AS WELL AS INFORMED OF THE LATEST TRENDS IN THE NUMBER OF MINORITIES ENTERING THE PROFESSION.
NDA HOSTS AN ANNUAL CONVENTION TO PROVIDE CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR ITS MEMBERS IN THE FORM OF SCIENTIFIC LECTURES, HANDS-ON CLINICS AND HEALTH SYMPOSIUMS. TOPICS INCLUDE ENDODONTICS, PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY, GERIATRIC DENTISTRY, PERIODONTICS, COSMETIC DENTISTRY, FINANCIAL PLANNING, RISK MANAGEMENT AND PUBLIC POLICY EDUCATION. IN ADDITION TO CONTINUING EDUCATION, THE CONVENTION'S ACTIVITIES INCLUDE A WOMEN'S HEALTH SYMPOSIUM TO ADDRESS A VARIETY OF WOMEN'S HEALTH ISSUES, A CITYWIDE WALK-A-THON AND A HEALTH FAIR PROVIDING ORAL SCREENINGS, MAMMOGRAMS, AND HYPERTENSION SCREENING FOR THE UNDERPRIVILEGED. EXHIBITOR'S SHOWCASES ALLOW MEMBERS TO MEET SUPPLIERS AND TEST PRODUCTS USED IN DENTAL OFFICES.
