CONFERENCE/TRAINING:THE ASSOCIATION CONDUCTS AN ANNUAL TRAINING CONFERENCE FOR THEIR MEMBERSHIP. THE 2021 CONFERENCE WAS HELD IN ORLANDO, FLORIDA. 915 DELEGATES ATTENDED OVER 52 HOURS OF TRAINING AVAILABLE IN 25 SESSIONS. SESSIONS INCLUDED MASS SHOOTING RESPONSE, HIGH SCHOOL PUBLIC SAFETY, BEST PRACTICES FOR POLICING PROTESTS, COVID IMPACTS ON POLICING, OFFICER SAFETY & WELLNESS AND OTHERS. AN EXHIBIT HALL PROVIDED OPPORTUNITIES TO EXPERIENCE THE LATEST IN TECHNOLOGY AND LAW ENFORCEMENT PRODUCTS. THE CONFERENCE IS ALSO A FAMILY ORIENTED EVENT AND OVER 759 GUESTS HAD ACCESS TO OFF-HOURS SOCIAL EVENTS. DURING 2021, THE FBINAA PROVIDED OVER 400 HOURS OF COMPREHENSIVE OFFICER RESILIENCE TRAINING. A TOTAL OF 10 COURSES WERE HELD IN ILLINOIS, TENNESSEE, INDIANA, NEW YORK, VIRGINIA, WASHINGTON, TEXAS, AND ONTARIO, CANADA. MASS CASUALTY RESPONSE LEADERSHIP FORUM COURSES WERE HELD IN FLORIDA, GEORGIA, LOUISIANA, NEW ENGLAND AND PENNSLYVANIA. SCHOOL SHOOTER PREVENTION LEADERSHIP FORUM COURSES WERE HELD IN CALIFORNIA, NEW ENGLAND, OKLAHOMA, SOUTH CAROLINA, AND TENNESSEE.LASTLY, THE FBINAA PROVIDED 11 PODCASTS AND 20 WEBINARS, REACHING OVER 5,000 LAW ENFORCEMENT EXECUTIVES.
MEMBER BENEFIT SUPPORT:THE ASSOCIATION STRIVES TO ENSURE THAT THE FBI NATIONAL ACADEMY (FBINA) GRADUATES HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY, THROUGH THE ASSOCIATION AND ITS WORLD-WIDE CHAPTERS, TO CONTINUE THEIR EXPERIENCE AND NETWORK WITH THEIR PEERS. THE ASSOCIATION PRODUCES A QUARTERLY MAGAZINE, "NATIONAL ACADEMY ASSOCIATE" FOR MEMBERSHIP. THE ASSOCIATION ALSO PROVIDES SUPPORT FOR SEVERAL EVENTS FOR THE FBI NA SESSION'S STUDENTS THAT GO THROUGH THE FBINA. THEY ARE AFFORDED THE OPPORTUNITY FOR MEMBERSHIP; AN OPPORTUNITY TO MEET ASSOCIATION ACADEMIC ALLIES, SPONSORS, AND A VARIETY OF BOTH GOVERNMENTAL AND NON-GOVERNMENTAL ORGANIZATIONS RELATIVE TO THE PROFESSION. DUE TO COVID RESTRICTIONS, DURING 2021 THE ASSOCIATION PROVIDED SUPPORT FOR ONE SESSION WITH APPROXIMATELY 100 STUDENTS.
FALLEN OFFICER:THE ASSOCIATION WORKS IN PARTNERSHIP WITH VERIZON WIRELESS TO PROVIDE A FALLEN OFFICER'S FUND. WHEN ANY SWORN LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER IS KILLED IN THE LINE OF DUTY, THAT OFFICER'S ELIGIBLE BENEFICIARY IS GRANTED A $1,500 BENEFIT FROM THE FALLEN OFFICER'S FUND. THE ASSOCIATION COORDINATES WITH ITS NETWORK OF MEMBERS TO EXPEDITOUSLY IDENTIFY AND DISTRIBUTE THESE BENEFITS. IN 2021, VERIZON WIRELESS GRANTED $179,000 TO THE FALLEN OFFICERS FUND AND THE ASSOCIATION DISTRIBUTED $169,500 IN BENEFITS PAYING THE BENEFICIARIES OF 113 FALLEN OFFICERS.
