DURING THE 2023 TAX PERIOD, CENTRAL EAST MENTAL HEALTH TECHNOLOGY CENTER (CE-MHTTC)FUNDED BY SUBSTANCE ABUSE ADMINISTRATION COOPERATIVE AGREEMENT AWARD; NUMBER 3H79SM081785 AND MANAGED BY THE THE DANYA INSTITUTE, INC., CONTINUED ITS COLLABORATIVE EFFORTS IN DEVELOPING AND STRENGTHENING THE SKILLS, CAPACITY AND KNOWLEDGE OF THEIR MENTAL HEALTH WORKFORCE AND SCHOOL PERSONNEL. THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA OF FOCUS WAS THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES REGION 3 (HHS REGION 3). THIS REGION INCLUDES DELAWARE, MARYLAND, PENNSYLVANIA, VIRGINIA, WEST VIRGINIA, AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (DC). THE CE-MHTTC FOCUSED IT SERVICES ON PROVIDING, DISSEMINATING, AND IMPLEMENTING EVIDENCE-BASED PRACTICES AND PROMISING CLINICAL PRACTICES THAT ARE EFFECTIVE IN ADDRESSING MENTAL ILLNESSES AND CO-OCCURRING SUBSTANCE AND STIMULANT MISUSE. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE. DURING THE PERIOD, 97 EVENTS WERE HELD AND 5,118 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATE.
STATE OPIOID RESPONSE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (SOR TA) COLLABORATES WITH THE AMERICAN ACADEMY ADDICTION PSYCHIATRY AS THE OPIOID RESPONSE NETWORK IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF THE SUBSTANCE ABUSE MENTAL HEALTH SERVICES ADMINISTRATIONS STATE OPIOD RESPONSE (SOR) TRIBAL OPIOID TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE. THE TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE AND TRAINING (T/TA) IS PROVIDED FREE

THE GEOGRAPHICAL AREA OF FOCUS IS THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES REGION 3 (HHS REGION 3). THIS REGION INCLUDES DELAWARE, MARYLAND, PENNSYLVANIA, WEST VIRGINIA, AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA (DC). SPECIFICALLY, THE CE-ATTC FOCUSED IT SERVICES ON PREPARING TOOLS NEEDED BY PRACTITIONERS TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF SERVICE DELIVERY AND PROVIDING TRAINING AND TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO PROVIDER ORGANIZATIONS TO IMPROVE THEIR PROCESSES AND PRACTICES IN THE DELIVERY OF EFFECTIVE SUBSTANCE USE DISORDER TREATMENT AND RECOVERY SERVICES. SERVICES ARE PROVIDED FREE OF CHARGE. DURING THIS PERIOD, 109 TRAINING OR TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE EVENTS WERE HELD AND 4,275 INDIVIDUALS PARTICIPATED.
THE CENTRAL EAST PTTC SERVES DELAWARE, MARYLAND, PENNSYLVANIA, VIRGINIA, WEST VIRGINIA, AND THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA. THE PTTC PROVIDED TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE (TA) AND TRAINING (T) GEARED TOWARD DEVELOPING AND STRENGTHENING THE CAPACITY OF SUBSTANCE USE PREVENTION FIELD TO PROVIDE SERVICES THAT ARE BASED ON PREVENTION SCIENCE USING EVIDENCE-BASED AND PROMISING PRACTICES. IN 2023, PTTC HELD 80 T/TA EVENTS WITH 6,348 PARTCIPANTS. NINETY-TWO PERCENT (92%) OF RESPONDENTS HAD A HIGH SATISFACTION RATE WITH THE OVERALL QUALITY AND THE SAME NUMBER EXPECTED THE EVENT THEY ATTENDED TO BENEFIT THEMSELVES OR THEIR COMMUNITY.
