CONFERENCES - THIS ANNUAL HEALTH POLICY EVENT HIGHLIGHTED THE UNIQUE ROLE THE NURSING PROFESSION PLAYS IN ACHIEVING EQUITABLE CARE AND CELEBRATED THE ORGANIZATIONS 50TH ANNIVERSARY. THROUGH PRESENTATIONS BY INVITED SPEAKERS, SELECTED SCHOLARLY ABSTRACTS, AND DISCUSSION, ATTENDEES WERE PROVIDED EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES. THE EVENT WAS OPEN TO NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL NURSES AND OTHER HEALTH CARE STAKEHOLDERS.
ALL OTHER PROGRAM EXPENSES INCLUDING AND INSTITUTE OF NURSING LEADERSHIP.
COUNCIL FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF NURSING SCIENCE - THE COUNCIL FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF NURSING SCIENCE (CANS) WORKS TO ADVANCE GOALS RELATED TO NURSING AND HEALTHCARE RESEARCH, SCIENTIFIC TRAINING, LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES, AND CAREER DEVELOPMENT. CANS SERVES AS A NATIONAL VOICE FOR NURSING SCIENCE TO PROMOTE BETTER HEALTH. THE CONFERENCE FOCUSES ON RESEARCH DISSEMINATION WHERE NURSE RESEARCHERS FROM AROUND THE WORLD JOIN WITH RECOGNIZED SCIENTIFIC EXPERTS, FUNDING AGENCIES, AND POLICY MAKERS TO EXPLORE EMERGING SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERIES. DUES ARE COLLECTED.
MEMBERSHIP SERVICES - SELECTION OF FELLOWS FOR INDUCTION INTO THE ACADEMY IS ONE OF THE CRITICAL FUNCTIONS OF THE ORGANIZATION. SELECTION AS AN ACADEMY FELLOW INVOLVES A RIGOROUS REVIEW OF APPLICATIONS BY A DESIGNATED COMMITTEE. FELLOWSHIP IN THE ACADEMY IS AN HONOR HELD IN THE HIGHEST REGARD WITHIN THE NURSING PROFESSION. DUES ARE COLLECTED ON AN ANNUAL BASIS FROM THE FELLOWS.
