THE FTF IS A TRADE ASSOCIATION OF FAIR TRADE ENTERPRISES FULLY COMMITTED TO EQUITABLE AND SUSTAINABLE TRADING PARTNERSHIPS. WE STRENGTHEN AND SUPPORT OUR MEMBERS IN ORDER TO GROW THE GLOBAL MOVEMENT OF TRADE THAT VALUES THE HEALTH OF THE PLANT AND THE LABOR, DIGNITY AND EQUALITY OF ALL PEOPLE.

FAIR TRADE FEDERATION ANNUAL CONFERENCE (NORMALLY HELD IN PERSON) WAS FACILITATED VIRTUALLY (USING ZOOM)AND SERVED AS A SHOWCASE FOR THE WORK OF FTF MEMBERS AND THEIR COMMITTMENT TO FAIR TRADE BUSINESS PRACTICES. APPROXIMATELY 600 ATTENDEES REGISTERED FOR THE EVENT, AND RETAILERS WHO REGISTERED RECEIVED A BOX FILLED WITH FTF MEMBER PRODUCTS. THE CONFERENCE ALSO HIGHLIGHTED THE IMPORTANCE OF INCORPORATING JEDI(JUSTICE, EQUITY, DIVERSITY, INCLUSION)INTO THE FUTURE OF THE FAIR TRADE MOVEMENT.
ONLINE GUIDES AND ACTIVITIES EDUCATING ABOUT AND PROMOTING FULLY COMMITTED FAIR TRADE IN 2021 THE FEDERATION WORKED TO EDUCATE CONSUMERS AND RETAILERS ON THE VALUE OF VERIFIED FAIR TRADE BRANDS (ESPECIALLY IN SPITE OF THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC) BY CREATING ONLINE GUIDES, INCLUDING A HOLIDAY GIFT GUIDE. FOR FAIR TRADE MONTH (OCTOBER) THE FAIR TRADE FEDERATION HOSTED ITS FIRST SILENT ACTION TO PROMOTE AND RAISE AWARENESS OF FAIR TRADE TO A WIDE AUDIENCE.
MEMBERSHIP VERIFICATION THE BACKBONE OF THE FAIR TRADE FEDERATION'S WORK IS THE VERIFICATION OF FAIR TRADE PRACTICES OF BOTH NEW MEMBERS AND ALL CURRENT MEMBERS, WHICH PROVIDES A MARK OF TRUST FOR THEIR PRODUCTS IN THE MARKETPLACE. USING THE FTF'S CODE OF PRACTICE AS A GUIDE, APPLICANTS ARE SCREENED AGAINST ALL 9 FAIR TRADE PRINCIPLES. EXISTING MEMBERS ARE REVERIFIED ANNUALLY, ASSURING THEIR PRACTICES ARE MEETING THE STANDARDS SET IN THE CODE OF PRACTICE, AND CONTINUED IMPROVEMENT OVER TIME.
