PROGRESSIVE MAJORITY ACTION FUND:SINCE 2014 CAF HAS WORKED WITH OTHERS TO PROMOTE WIDESPREAD PUBLIC DISCUSSION OF AN ECONOMIC AGENDA THAT WILL REVERSE GROWING ECONOMIC INEQUALITY, ADDRESS RACIAL ECONOMIC IMBALANCES, AND STRENGTHEN OUR SOCIAL INSURANCE SYSTEM (INCLUDING SOCIAL SECURITY AND HEALTH CARE). THIS AGENDA ALSO ADDRESSES AN AGENDA FOR WOMEN'S ECONOMIC EQUALITY AND ALSO LAYS OUT A PLAN FOR PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT AND STOPPING GLOBAL WARMING THROUGH LARGE SCALE INVESTMENTS IN RENEWABLE ENERGY. CAF HAS CONTINUED TO FIND AND CARRY OUT EFFORTS TO GET A DIVERSE GROUP OF LEADERS AND GRASS-ROOTS AMERICANS TO DISCUSS THIS AGENDA AND FIND CONSENSUS FOR A STRATEGY FOR CHANGE.
ECONOMY PROJECT: NO ECONOMIC AGENDA CAN SUCCEED UNLESS WE PROMOTE ROBUST ECONOMIC GROWTH AND GOOD JOBS. OUR ECONOMY AND JOBS PROJECT HAS WORKED TO PROMOTE DISCUSSION OF FOUR MAJOR MESSAGES: 1) AUSTERITY AND MASSIVE TAX CUTS TO THE WEALTHY AND CORPORATIONS ARE NOT THE WAY TO GENERATE ECONOMIC GROWTH; 2) SUCCESSFUL EFFORTS TO INCREASE THE INCOMES AND WEALTH OF MIDDLE CLASS AND POOR AMERICANS ARE A SURE WAY STIMULATE ECONOMIC DEMAND AND THUS GROWTH; 3) INVESTMENT IN CREATING AND RETAINING MANUFACTURING JOBS (AND PREVENT JOB OUTSOURCING) ARE ESSENTIAL; AND 4) AMERICA NEEDS MASSIVE INVESTMENT TO REPAIR AND REBUILD INFRASTRUCTURE.
