SCIENTIFIC, SWHR NETWORKS, AND BOSD JOURNAL - SWHR MAINTAINS A DIALOGUE WITH THE PUBLIC AND PRIVATE SECTOR RESEARCH COMMUNITIES TO EDUCATE THEM ABOUT THE NEED FOR RESEARCH IN WOMEN'S HEALTH AND THE STUDY OF SEX DIFFERENCES. SWHR CO-OWNS THE BIOLOGY OF SEX DIFFERENCE JOURNAL (TO ENHANCE THE KNOWLEDGE OF SEX AND GENDER DIFFERENCES). SWHR CONVENES INTERDISCIPLINARY WORKING GROUP MEMBERS THAT INCLUDE RESEARCHERS, CLINICIANS, PATIENTS AND OTHER EXPERTS TO ADDRESS GAPS IN KNOWLEDGE AND UNMET NEEDS IN WOMEN'S HEALTH ACROSS THE LIFESPAN.
COMMUNICATIONS - SWHR EDUCATES WOMEN AND THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE VALUE OF BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH AND THE LATEST FINDINGS ABOUT DISEASE PREVENTION, DIAGNOSIS, AND TREATMENT OPTIONS.
POLICY AND ADVOCACY - SWHR SEEKS TO INCREASE APPROPRIATIONS FOR BIOMEDICAL RESEARCH FOR CONDITIONS THAT AFFECT WOMEN AND FOR SEX DIFFERENCES RESEARCH. SWHR SEEKS TO ENSURE THAT WOMEN ARE INCLUDED APPROPRIATELY IN CLINICAL TRIALS, THAT TRIAL RESULTS (RESEARCH FINDINGS) ARE ANALYZED FOR SEX AND GENDER DIFFERENCES, AND THAT APPROPRIATE FUNDING IS PROVIDED FOR THE OFFICES OF WOMEN'S HEALTH AT NIH, HHS, AND FDA. FURTHERMORE, SWHR ADVOCATES FOR IMPROVED REGULATORY POLICY, COVERAGE AND PAYMENT POLICY, AND PRIVATE HEALTH PLAN POLICY TO BENEFIT THE HEALTH OF WOMEN.
