ELIGE EDUCAR IS A PROJECT BASED IN THE CENTER OF PUBLIC POLICY OF CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY. ITS PURPOSE IS TO GUARANTEE THAT EVERY CHILD GETS TO BE EDUCATED BY GREAT TEACHERS. TO ACHIEVE ITS VISION, ELIGE EDUCAR WORKS ON THREE STRATEGIC AREAS: 1) ATTRACTING HIGH-PERFORMING STUDENTS INTO TEACHING CAREER PROGRAMS 2) ENHANCE SOCIAL STATUS OF TEACHING 3) ADVOCATING FOR PUBLIC POLICIES TO IMPROVE TEACHERS' WORKING CONDITIONS AND TRAINING.
RADIO BEETHOVEN IS ONE OF THE FEW CHILEAN RADIO STATIONS THAT BROADCASTS CLASSICAL MUSIC IN THE COUNTRY, AND WAS ACQUIRED BY CATHOLIC UNIVERSITY IN JANUARY 2020, AFTER IT WAS CLOSED BY THE PREVIOUS OWNERS BECAUSE OF ECONOMIC REASONS. THE RADIO HAS AN IMPORTANT CULTURAL ROLE, GIVING ACCESS TO CAREFULLY SELECTED MUSIC TO A BROAD NUMBER OF PEOPLE. DURING FY 2021, THE RADIO EXPANDED ITS COVERAGE TO OTHER REGIONS OF CHILE, ADDED NEW PROGRAMS AND INCREASED ITS AUDIENCE SIGNIFICANTLY.
