THE PRACTICING FORESTERS INSTITUTE TRUST (PFIT) IS A NONPROFIT ORGANIZATION OPERATED NOT FOR PROFIT, BUT EXCLUSIVELY FOR CHARITABLE AND EDUCATIONAL PURPOSES FOR THE BENEFIT OF PRACTICING FORESTERS. THESE CONTINUING EDUCATIONAL EFFORTS FURTHER PROMOTE THE DELIVERY OF PROFESSIONAL FORESTRY SERVICES TO THE BENEFIT OF THE GENERAL PUBLIC. MISSION: OFFER EDUCATIONAL INFORMATION AND OPPORTUNITIES TO PRACTICING FORESTERS. VISION: PROVIDE BETTER PUBLIC UNDERSTANDING OF THE MULTIPLE BENEFITS PROVIDED BY AMERICA'S FORESTS AND THE REALIZATION THAT THESE VALUES CAN BEST BE ACHIEVED THROUGH PROFESSIONAL FORESTERS ASSISTING PRIVATE LANDOWNERS ACTIVELY MANAGE THEIR TIMBERLANDS TO MEET THEIR GOALS AND EXPECTATIONS.

PROMOTE EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS FOR CONSULTING FORESTERS INCLUDING RESEARCH, INSTRUCTION AND OUTREACH EFFORTS CONSISTENT WITH THE POLICIES AND VALUES OF THE ASSOCIATION OF CONSULTING FORESTERS OF AMERICA, INC. 2. ADMINISTER AND GROW AN ENDOWMENT FUND CREATED FOR THE SOLE PURPOSE OF PROVIDING SCHOLARSHIPS, GRANTS AND EDUCATIONAL OFFERINGS TO BENEFIT MEMBERS AND CANDIDATE MEMBERS OF THE ACF, AND OTHER PRACTICING FORESTERS. 3. CONDUCT FUND RAISING ACTIVITIES INCLUDING SOLICITATION OF DONATIONS, GRANTS, SILENT AUCTIONS, RAFFLES AND OTHER SUCH ACTIVITIES AS DEEMED APPROPRIATE IN SUPPORT OF THE AFORE MENTIONED PROGRAMS.
