THE NATIONAL PHILHARMONIC (NATPHIL) ENGAGES, INSPIRES, AND UNITES DIVERSE COMMUNITIES ACROSS THE METROPOLITAN WASHINGTON, DC AREA, INCLUDING CENTRAL AND EASTERN MARYLAND, THE DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA, NORTHERN VIRGINIA, AND BEYOND. THROUGH OUTSTANDING MUSIC PERFORMANCES AND INNOVATIVE EDUCATION PROGRAMS, NATPHIL SERVES YOUTH, FAMILIES, AND ADULTS BY PROVIDING HIGH-QUALITY CONCERT PRESENTATIONS AND EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE COMMUNITY. NATPHIL PRODUCES UP TO 15 ORCHESTRAL AND CHORAL CONCERTS A YEAR, AS WELL AS CHAMBER CONCERTS AND OTHER SMALL GROUP OUTREACH EVENTS FOR APPROXIMATELY 40,000 PEOPLE. OTHER CONCERT EVENTS SUPPORT THE WARRIOR CAF AT WALTER REED NATIONAL MILITARY MEDICAL CENTER AND LOCAL SENIOR LIVING FACILITIES, AS WELL AS FAMILIES WITH CHILDREN THROUGH OUR ALL KIDS, ALL FREE, ALL THE TIME INITIATIVE THAT PROVIDES FREE ADMISSION FOR CHILDREN TO ALL CONCERTS.
NATPHILS EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDE ANNUAL CONCERTS HOSTED IN PARTNERSHIP WITH MONTGOMERY COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOLS FOR ALL 12,000 MONTGOMERY COUNTY 2ND GRADERS DESIGNED TO HEIGHTEN THEIR EXPOSURE TO CLASSICAL MUSIC. NATPHILS SUMMER STRINGS INSTITUTE FOR ASPIRING INSTRUMENTAL MUSICIANS SERVES APPROXIMATELY 120 YOUTH AND OFFERS WELL-ROUNDED COACHING, INDIVIDUAL LESSONS FROM EXPERIENCED NATPHIL MUSICIANS, CRITICAL ENSEMBLE REHEARSALS, AND OUTSTANDING PERFORMANCES. NATPHILS YOUTH MENTORSHIP PROGRAM AND LESSON BANK FOR PRINCE GEORGES COUNTY PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS SERVES APPROXIMATELY 20 STUDENTS WITH INTENSIVE LESSONS, CHAMBER MUSIC, AND HOLISTIC LOOK AT LIFE SKILLS.
