ACAHM EVALUATES PROFESSIONAL NON-DEGREE AND GRADUATE DEGREE PROGRAMS INCLUDING DOCTORAL PROGRAMS IN ACUPUNCTURE AND IN HERBAL MEDICINE UNDER THE RECOGNITION OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION (USDE) FOR A LEVEL OF PERFORMANCE, INTEGRITY AND QUALITY THAT ENTITLES THEM TO THE CONFIDENCE OF THE EDUCATION COMMUNITY AND THE PUBLIC THEY SERVE. ACAHM ESTABLISHES ACCREDITATION CRITERIA, ARRANGES SITE VISITS, EVALUATES PROGRAMS THAT DESIRE ACCREDITED STATUS, AND PUBLICLY DESIGNATES THOSE THAT MEET THE CRITERIA. ON A CONTINUING BASIS ACAHM EVALUATES ACCREDITED PROGRAMS' CONTINUING ABILITY TO MAINTAIN THEIR ORIGINAL INTENT AND THEIR EXPANSION PHYSICALLY, AS WELL AS, THE ADDITION OF NEW PROGRAMS UNDER THE U.S. DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION RECOGNITION.
