IN FISCAL YEAR 2020, DANCE PLACE SUPPORTED ARTISTS AND STUDENTS AT EVERY AGE AND AT EVERY STAGE OF THEIR CAREERS, ARTISTRY, AND GROWTH. SUPPORT FOR ARTISTS WAS ACHIEVED THROUGH PRESENTING PERFORMANCES (IN-PERSON AND VIRTUALLY), PROVIDING RESIDENCIES, AND COMMISSIONING WORK - SERVING OVER 700 ARTISTS, SUPPORTING 57 PRESENTATIONS AND 3 COMMISSIONS, AND PROVIDING OVER 680 HOURS OF FREE REHEARSAL SPACE. DANCE PLACE'S EDUCATION PROGRAMS (ON-SITE, OFF-SITE, AND VIRTUALLY) SERVED OVER 6,000 PARTICIPANTS AND 15 SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY CENTERS THROUGHOUT THE REGION. APPROXIMATELY $93,000 IN SCHOLARSHIPS WAS PROVIDED TO YOUTH AND FAMILIES ACROSS ALL OF OUR EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS. EARNED REVENUE FROM TICKET SALES TO THESE PERFORMANCES IS APPROXIMATELY 50% LESS THAN PRIOR YEARS DUE TO THE GOVERNMENT-MANDATED CLOSURE OF OUR PHYSICAL SPACE IN RESPONSE TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC.
