THEATRICAL ARTS PRODUCTIONS ("TAP") PROGRAM OFFERS PROFESSIONAL PREFORMANCES THAT RELATE TO SCHOOL CIRRICULUM AND REFLECT CURRENT SOCIAL ISSUES AND CONCERNS. THESE PROFORMANCES TAKE PLACE AT TOBY'S DINNER THEATRE AND ARE PREFORMED BY PROFESSIONAL ACTORS. THEY ARE ENJOYED BY THOUSANDS OF SUDENTS THROUGHOUT THE BALTIMORE-WASHINGTON AREA EACH YEAR. THERE ARE FOUR CURRICULUM-BASED PRODUCTIONS FOR SCHOOLS EACH ACADEMIC YEART AT TOBY'S DINNER THEATRE IN COLUMBIA, MD: EXAMPLES OF SHOWS ARE, "MISS NELSON IS MISSING," "JACKIE ROBINSON: MVP," "WINNIE THE POOH", AND "SCHOOLHOUSE ROCK LIVE!"
THE CONSERVATORY OFFERS PREFORMING ARTS-BASED PROGRAMS THAT NURTURE AND DEVELOP THE WHOLE CHILD. IT DRAWS STUDENTS FROM HOWARD COUNTY AND SURROUNDING AREAS, STUDENTS LEARN THROUGH EXERCISES AND WORKSHOPS THAT TEACH BASIC ACTING TECHNIQUE WHILE ENCOURAGING THEM TO LEARN THROUGH PERSONAL EXPLORATION AND APPLICATION OF SKILLS. SCHOLARSHIPS ARE AVAILABLE ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS. THESE PROGRAMS INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING: - KIDS ON BROADWAY OUR MUSICAL THEATRE CLASSES FOR STUDENTS AGES 6-12 THAT ARE DESIGNED TO STRENGTHEN ACTING, SIGING AND DANCING SKILLS IN AN ENJOYABLE, SUPPORTIVE ATMOSHERE. - WORKSHOPS TAUGHT BY GUEST INSTRUCTORS WHICH ARE OFTEN BROADWAY ACTORS ARE OFFERED FOR STUDENTS IN GRADES 5-12 INTERESTED IN FURTHERING AND REFINING THEIR PREFORMANCE SKILL SET.
