TRADE EXPO - THE ANNUAL MWA EAST COAST COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN TRADE SHOW AND AQUACULTURE EXPOSITION IS THE ONLY COMMERCIAL FISHING TRADE SHOW IN THE MID-ATLANTIC REGION. IT DRAWS THE GENERAL PUBLIC, COMMERCIAL FISHERMEN, CHARTER BOAT CAPTAINS, RECREATIONAL FISHERMEN, GOVERNMENT AGENCIES INCLUDING USCG, MD DNR, DEPT OF THE ENVIRONMENT, EDUCATORS, SCIENTISTS, CHESAPEAKE BAY FOUNDATION, NOAA, AND OTHERS. THERE ARE DISPLAYS, EVENTS, COMPETITIONS, AND EDUCATIONAL SEMINARS ON INDUSTRY ISSUES.
ROCKFISH TOURNAMENT - THE ANNUAL MWA ROCKFISH TOURNAMENT IS A THREE- DAY EVENT WHERE CHARTER BOATS AND PRIVATE VESSELS COMPETE TO SEE WHO CAN CATCH THE LARGEST FISH. SEVERAL HUNDRED ADULTS AND CHILDREN COMPETE IN THE TOURNAMENT WHICH RAISES AWARENESS OF THE ASSOCIATION, COMMERCIAL WATERMEN, AND FISHERIES.
