THE ASSOCIATION ENCOURAGES AND SPONSORS ADOPTION OF UNIFORM AND EFFECTIVE FERTILIZER INSPECTION TECHNIQUES BY ALL MEMBER AGENCIES, THROUGHOUT THE UNITED STATES, CANADA, AND PUERTO RICO. THIS INCLUDES ENCOURAGES AND SPONSORING THE MOST EFFECTIVE AND ADEQUATE SAMPLING AND INSPECTION TECHNIQUES, AND ENFORCEMENT PRACTICES, WHILE PROMOTING SAFE AND EFFECTIVE USE OF FERTILIZERS AND PROTECTION OF SOIL AND WATER RESOURCES.

THE ORGANIZATION HAS TWO MEETINGS EACH YEAR FOR ALL MEMBERS AND INDUSTRY, WHICH PROVIDE FACILITIES AND OPPORTUNITIES FOR THE FREE EXCHANGE OF INFORMATION, DISCUSSION AND COOPERATIVE STUDY OF PROBLEMS IN THE FERTILIZER INDUSTRY. ALSO, AN ADMINISTRATORS SEMINAR IS CONDUCTED ANNUALLY. SPECIAL TOPICAL SEMINARS ARE ALSO HELD OCCASIONALLY.
THE ORGANIZATION PUBLISHES AN OFFICIAL PUBLICATION, CONTAINING CURRENT STANDARDS, ANNUAL REPORTS, UNIFORM POLICY STATEMENTS AND OFFICIAL TERMS FOR ITS MEMBERSHIP, STATE FERTILIZER CONTROL OFFICIALS, INDUSTRY, COLLEGES, EXTENSION PERSONNEL AND PUBLIC LIBRARIES. AN INSPECTION MANUAL AND INSPECTION VIDEO IS ALSO PUBLISHED/PRODUCED, FOR USE BY FERTILIZER INSPECTORS.
