THE CHAMBER HOSTS 50-60 EVENTS PER YEAR FOCUSING ON PROMOTING LOCAL BUSINESSES IN CARROLL COUNTY. RELATIONSHIPS ARE THE FABRIC OF EVERY SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS. THEREFORE, WE PLACE A PREMIUM ON CREATING OPPORTUNITIES AND EXPERIENCES FOR OUR MEMBERS TO MAKE MEANINGFUL CONNECTIONS AND BUILD RELATIONSHIPS WITH PROFESSIONALS, BUSINESS OWNERS, AND COMMUNITY LEADERS FROM CARROLL COUNTY, MD AND SURROUNDING AREAS. WE ARE OVER 650 MEMBERS STRONG AND LOOK FORWARD TO SERVING MANY MORE BUSINESSES IN THE YEARS TO COME.
LEADERSHIP CARROLL IS COSPONSORED BY THE CARROLL COUNTY CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND CARROLL COMMUNITY COLLEGE. SINCE ITS DEBUT IN 1990, LEADERSHIP CARROLL HAS BEEN THE PREMIER LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM IN CARROLL COUNTY. ITS PURPOSE IS TO PROVIDE EXISTING AND EMERGING LEADERS WITH A COMBINATION OF LEADERSHIP TRAINING AND DETAILED KNOWLEDGE OF THE COMMUNITY, INCLUDING A DESCRIPTION OF THE PROBLEMS, OPPORTUNITIES, AND ISSUES FACING OUR COMMUNITY. EMPLOYERS FROM EVERY SIZE BUSINESS, ALONG WITH NONPROFIT AND GOVERNMENT ORGANIZATIONS, ENROLL THEIR MANAGERS AND KEY PROFESSIONAL STAFF IN THE PROGRAM AND PROVIDE THEM DIRECT CONTACT WITH THE LEADERS AND THE INSTITUTIONS CENTRAL TO THE PROCESS OF CHANGE IN CARROLL COUNTY. LEADERSHIP CARROLL IS YOUR BEST OPPORTUNITY TO ENHANCE YOUR OWN OR YOUR EMPLOYEE'S KNOWLEDGE OF WHO TO CALL ON AND HOW TO GET THINGS DONE IN CARROLL COUNTY. THE LEADERSHIP CARROLL PROGRAM HAD 43 GRADUATES IN 2023 AND CURRENTLY HAS 45 ENROLLED IN THE CLASS THIS YEAR.
THE CHAMBER HOSTS AN EVENT CALLED THE CARROLL BIZ CHALLENGE, WHICH HAS BECOME AN ANNUAL TRADITION IN CARROLL COUNTY. THE BIZ CHALLENGE OFFERS LOCAL ENTREPRENUERS THE EXCITING OPPORTUNITY TO PITCH THEIR NEW BUSINESS IDEAS TO MAKE GREAT CONNECTIONS, GET LOADS OF PUBLICITY, AND COMPETE FOR A 10,000 CASH PRIZE. IN 2023, THERE WERE 44 ENTRANTS IN THE CARROLL BIZ CHALLENGE.
