PROVIDE STRATEGIC, HIGH QUALITY SCIENCE PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT FOR K-5 GRADE LEVEL STEM SPECIALISTS IN ORANGE COUNTY, CA. TO DEVELOP LEADERSHIP AND CLASSROOM SKILLS TO LEAD OTHER TEACHERS TO IMPLEMENT NEW NATIONAL SCIENCE STANDARDS. SCIENCE SPECIALISTS/TRAINERS DEVELOPED GRADE-SPECIFIC LESSON PLANS AND DEVELOPED HANDS-ON CLASSROOM SCIENCE KITS FOR EACH LESSON. ACTIVITIES LED TO 240 TEACHERS TRAINED IN LIFE AND ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE, EARTH AND SPACE SCIENCE, AND PHYSICAL SCIENCE. TEACHERS IN THE TRAINING PROGRAM RECEIVED A KIT TO IMPLEMENT EACH OF THE LESSONS IN THEIR CLASSROOMS. KIDS AT SCIENCE PRODUCED A TOTAL OF 250 TEACHER KITS AND 7,680 STUDENT KITS.
