USDA RURAL HOUSING SECTION 523 GRANT PROVIDES ADMINISTRATIVE FUNDING THAT ENABLES OUR ORGANIZATION TO PROVIDE VERY LOW AND LOW INCOME FAMILIES AND INDIVIDUALS AFFORDABLE HOUSING THROUGH A SELF-HELP HOUSING INITIATIVE. FAMILIES ENROLLED IN OUR PROGRAM RECEIVE EXTENSIVE BUDGET AND CREDIT COUNSELING, HOMEBUYER EDUCATION AND FORECLOSURE PREVENTATION COUNSELING AND WORKSHOPS. ALL COUNSELING AND WORKSHOPS ARE FREE TO PARTICIPANTS. SUCCESSFUL PARTICIPANTS MUSST HAVE SUFFICIENT INCOME AND CREDIT SCORES TO OBTAIN MORTGAGE LOANS. PARTICIPANTS PROVIDE LABOR (SWEAT EQUITY) ON THIER HOMES TO LOWER COSRS TO MAKE MORTGAGES MORE AFFORDABLE. OUR EXPERIENCED STAFF PROVIDES EACH PARTICIPANT WITH TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE IN LOAN APPLICATIONS, LOAN PROCESSING, SUBCONTRACTOR COMPLIANCE, SUBCONTRACTOR SCHEDULING, COLOR SELECTIONS, PLANS AND ENGINEERING,, LOT SELECTIONS AND LABOR TRAINING TO COMPLETE TASKS ON THEIR HOMES. ALL GRANT INCOME FUNDS SUPPORT ADMINISTRATIVE FUNCTIONS IN CONNECTION WITH THIS PROGRAM.
