ESTABLISHED IN 1974 AS THE DANFORTH GALLERY, PARK COUNTY FRIENDS OF THE ARTS INC (DBA: THE DANFORTH MUSEUM OF ART) WAS THE DEFINING CENTER FOR THE LIVINGSTON ART COMMUNITY. IN 2016, 42 YEARS AFTER ITS ESTABLISHMENT, PARK COUNTY FRIENDS OF THE ARTS CLOSED THE DANFORTH GALLERY AND DEDICATED ITSELF TO PRESERVING THE COMMUNITY'S ARTISTIC HERITAGE. THE RESULT IS TODAY'S VIBRANT DANFORTH MUSEUM OF ART, A MICRO FINE ARTS MUSEUM WITH THE MISSION TO CELEBRATE THE LEGACY OF LIVINGSTON'S ARTS COMMUNITY AND EXPAND ENGAGEMENT WITH ART THROUGH EXHIBITIONS, COMMUNITY EDUCATION, AND THE PERMANENT COLLECTION.
