Describe the Organization's Mission:
Part 3 - Line 1
RESCUE ABUSED, ABANDONED, AND UNWANTED ANIMALS & ADOPT THEM TO LOVING FAMILIES GIVING THEM PERMANENT HOMES. PROVIDE EDUCATION PLUS OPERATE A FREE MOBILE HOSPITAL TO SPAY & NEUTER DOGS AND CATS IN LOW INCOME AREAS. PROVIDE VET CARE FOR THOSE WHO CANNOT AFFORD IT.
Describe the Organization's Program Activity:
Part 3 - Line 4a
ANIMAL HOSPITAL: OPERATES A FULL SERVICE VETERINARY HOSPITAL THAT ALSO HOUSES AND TREATS OUR RESCUED DOGS AND CATS THAT ARE UP FOR ADOPTION. OUR HOSPITAL OFFERS BOTH PRO BONO AND LOW COST SERVICES TO LOW INCOME, VETERANS, SENIORS, AND THE DISABLED CLIENTS, FOR THEIR PETS. IN ADDITION TO GENERAL WELLNESS ANIMAL CARE, WE ALSO PERFORM ULTRA SOUNDS, DENTISTRY, AND ORTHOPEDIC SURGERY. IN ORDER TO HELP FELLOW RESCUE CHARITIES WE EXTEND DISCOUNTED SERVICES TO THEM. WE WORK WITH THE HSUS, SPCALA, ASPCA, PETCARE FUND, AMONG OTHERS. DUE TO THE COVID PANDEMIC, MORE SERVICES WERE PERFORMED AT THE HOSPITAL RATHER THAN THE SPAYMOBILE (SEE 4C) SINCE IT COULD NOT TRAVEL THROUGHOUT THE CITY TO PERFORM THESE SERVICES.
ANIMAL RESCUE & ADOPTION: RESCUES DOGS AND CATS FROM CITY AND COUNTY SHELTERS AND THEN FINDS NEW HOMES FOR THEM. ONCE RESCUED, THE PETS ARE SPAYED OR NEUTERED, TREATED FOR ANY ILLNESS OR INJURY IN OUR HOSPITAL, AND THEN TRAINED TO MAKE THEM READY FOR ADOPTION. WE DO THOUGHTFUL INTERVIEWS WITH EACH PERSPECTIVE ADOPTER AND PERFORM HOME CHECKS TO MAKE SURE OUR RESCUED PET WILL LIVE IN A SECURE ENVIRONMENT. WE ARE A NO KILL ORGANIZATION WHICH MEANS ALL OF OUR RESCUED PETS ARE KEPT WITH US UNTIL A HOME CAN BE FOUND FOR THEM.
SPAYMOBILE-SPAY & NEUTER: PROVIDES FREE SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES PLUS VACCINE SERVICES FOR DOGS AND CATS BELONGING TO THE LOW INCOME PUBLIC. WE SERVE THE RESIDENTS OF BOTH THE CITY AND COUNTY OF LOS ANGELES IN AREAS WE HAVE DETERMINED TO BE THE SOURCE OF THE MAJORITY OF PETS ENTERING SHELTERS. WE PERFORM OVER 7,000 SPAY/NEUTER SURGERIES ANNUALLY WHICH HAS A DIRECT IMPACT IN LOWERING THE NUMBER OF ANIMALS ENTERING OUR CITY AND COUNTY SHELTERS. IF AN ANIMAL BROUGHT TO OUR SPAYMOBILE HAS OTHER MEDICAL NEEDS WE OFFER THE OWNER EITHER LOW COST OR PRO BONO CARE DEPENDING ON THE FINANCIAL SITUATION OF THE OWNER. THE SPAYMOBILE ALSO PROVIDES EDUCATIONAL VISITS TO SCHOOLS AND SOCIAL ORGANIZATIONS AS WELL AS SPECIAL EVENTS TO ENLIGHTEN THE PUBLIC ABOUT THE ADVANTAGES OF SPAY/NEUTER.
