TO BE THE LEADING ADVOCATE FOR DELAWARE'S CHILDREN. WE PROVIDE CREATIVE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT PROGRAMS THAT MEET THE CHANGING NEEDS OF FAMILIES. WE SERVE DEPENDENT, NEGLECTED, AND ABUSED CHILDREN AND THEIR PARENTS. WE PROVIDE PROGRAMS FOR THOSE INVOLVED IN DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SITUATIONS, ESPECIALLY CHILDREN. BY PROTECTING THE VICTIMS AND TREATING THOSE RESPONSIBLE FOR ACTS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE, WE HELP CHILDREN HEAL.

Part 3 - Line 4a

DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES INCLUDE 2 SHELTERS FOR FEMALE VICTIMS OF INTIMATE PARTNER VIOLENCE (IPV) AND THEIR CHILDREN AND PROVIDES MOTEL SHELTERING FOR MALE VICTIMS. THE AGENCY ALSO OPERATES SUPERVISED FAMILY VISITATION CENTERS. DURING 2022, 753 ADULTS AND CHILDREN USED THE ABOVE SERVICES. RELATED SERVICES OFFERED INCLUDE: A 24-HOUR MULTI-LINGUAL DOMESTIC VIOLENCE HOTLINE, CLINCIAL TREAMENT SERVICES FOR ADULT SURVIVORS AND OFFENDERS OF IPV AND CHILDREN/ADOLESCENTS WHO HAVE EXPERIENCED THE EFFECTS OF DOMESTIC VIOLENCE. ASSISTANCE FOR VICTIMS FILING PROTECTION FROM ABUSE PETITIONS, TRANSITIONAL HOUSING SERVICES FOR VICTIMS, AND COMMUNITY HEALTH ADVOCACY. DURING 2022, 1,828 CALLS WERE SERVED THROUGH THE HOTLINE, AND 3,278 INDIVIDUALS UTILIZED OTHER RELATED SERVICES.


EMERGENCY HOUSING FOR CHILDREN/YOUTH PROVIDES TEMPORARY HOUSING FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH IN THE CUSTODY OF THE DIVISION OF FAMILY SERVICES DUE TO ABUSE, NEGLECT, AND DEPENDENCY ISSUES. DURING 2022, 73 YOUTH WERE SHELTERED. IN ADDITION, 73 YOUTH WERE PROVIDED COUNSELING SERVICES BY AN ON-SITE PSYCHOTHERAPIST.


FAMILY SUPPORT AND PARENTING EDUCATION SERVICES PROVIDES STATEWIDE PARENTING EDUCATION CLASSES AND WORKSHOPS AND COMMUNITY/AGENCY BASED FAMILY SUPPORT PROGRAMMING. PROGRAMMING INCLUDES CASE MANAGEMENT, COUNSELING AND THE OPERATION OF FAMILY RESOURCE CENTERS. DURING 2022, 8,447 INDIVIDUALS (NOT UNDUPLICATED) WERE SERVED UNDER THIS PROGRAM.
