TO EMPOWER LIONS, VOLUNTEERS, AND PARTNERS TO IMPROVE HEALTH AND WELL- BEING, STRENGTHEN COMMUNITIES, AND SUPPORT THOSE IN NEED THROUGH HUMANITARIAN SERVICES AND GRANTS THAT IMPACT LIVES GLOBALLY, AND ENCOURAGE PEACE AND INTERNATIONAL UNDERSTANDING.

WEEKLY NOON MEETINGS WITH PROGRAM SPEAKERS AND PRESENTATIONS CREATE & FOSTER A SPRIIT OF UNDERSTANDING AMONG PEOPLE OF THE LEAVENWORTH COMMUNITY, NATION, AND WORLD. PROMOTE PRINPICLES OF GOOD GOVERNMENT AND GOOD CITIZENSHIP. TAKE AN ACTIVE INTEREST IN CIVIC, CULTURAL,SOCIAL & MORAL WELFARE OF THE COMMUNITY. UNITE MEMBERS IN THE BONDS OF FRIENDSHIP, GOOD FELLOWSHIP & MUTUAL UNDERSTANDING. PROVIDE A FORUM FOR OPEN DISCUSSION OF MATTERS OF PUBLIC INTEREST WHILE EXCLUDING POLITICS AND/OR SECTARIAN RELIGION. ENCOURAGE SERVICE MINDED MEMBERS TO SERVE THEIR COMMUNITY.


SERVICE PROJECTS IN THE AREAS OF HEALTH, VISION, HUNGER AND HUMANITARIANISM INCLUDE YOUTH VISION SCREENING AT ALL LOCAL ELEMENTARY AND HIGH SCHOOLS; CONDUCTING THE MOUSE RACE FUNDRAISER FOR A LOCAL DEMENTIA SUPPORT SERVICES; SUPPORT AND PATICIPATE IN THE LOCAL CANCER RELAY FOR LIFE; CREATED A WEEKLY WALKING GROUP FOR DIABETES PREVENTION; ASSIST LOW INCOME ADULTS WITH VISION EXAMS AND GLASSES THROUGH LEAVENWORTH SAINT VINCENT CLINIC. LEAVENWORTH LIONS REGULARLY CONTRIBUTE TO LOCAL FOOD BANKS AND PROVIDE FUNDS FOR THE PRISION SEED PROGRAM.


YOUTH CITIZENSHIP AND EDUCATION PROGRAMS INCLUDE CONTRIBUTING TO SCHOLARSHIPS FOR HIGH SCHOOL SENIORS, SPONSORING AND SUPPORTING A LEO CLUB; SUPPORTING LOCAL BOY SCOUTS; SPONSORING INDIVIDUALS FOR AMERICAN LEGION BOYS AND GIRLS STATE PROGRAMS WHERE PARTICIPANTS LEARN ABOUT THE STRUCTURE AND WORKING OF OUR GOVNERNEMNT VIA ROLE PLAY; AND SPONSORING STUDENTS WHO ATTEND KANSAS LIONS STATE BAND CAMP.
