THE MISSION OF AMONG FRIENDS IS TO PROVIDE AN INCLUSIVE SPACE FOR ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES TO GROW, SOCIALIZE, AND HAVE A MEANINGFUL DAY WITH FRIENDS IN AND AROUND THEIR COMMUNITY.

SINCE DEBUTING IN 2003, AMONG FRIENDS HAS BEEN PROVIDING A SAFE AND FRIENDLY PLACE FOR ADULTS WITH ADDITIONAL NEEDS AND DISABILITIES FOR FUN, LEARNING, AND FRIENDSHIPS. AMONG FRIENDS BREAKS THAT CYCLE OF ISOLATION THAT A VAST MAJORITY OF ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES EXPERIENCE. WE OFFER A WIDE VARIETY OF ACTIVITIES, SOCIAL EVENTS, AND LIFE-SKILLS BUILDING PROGRAMS. MANY ADULTS WITH DEVELOPMENTAL DISABILITIES ARE NOT AFFORDED THE LUXURY OF CHOICE IN THEIR DAY-TO-DAY, BUT AT AMONG FRIENDS, INDEPENDENT DECISION-MAKING AND SELF-ADVOCACY IS HIGHLY ENCOURAGED. AT ITS CORE AMONG FRIENDS IS ABOUT INCLUSION, EMPOWERMENT, AND FRIENDSHIP.
