THE ORGANIZATION PROVIDES SCHOLARSHIPS TO GRADUATES OF NEODESHA HIGH SCHOOL. THE STUDENTS APPLY ON AN APPLICATION FORM. THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS BASED UPON RACE OR EMPLOYMENT OF A PROSPECTIVE RECIPIENT. TO RECEIVE THE FIRST SEMESTER PAYMENT, RECIPIENTS MUST PROVIDE PROOF OF ENROLLMENT IN AT LEAST 12 HOURS AND PAYMENT OF FEES. IF THE RECIPIENT NEEDS THE GRANT TO PAY ENROLLMENT FEES, THE CHECK MAY BE MADE PAYABLE TO THE SCHOOL. TO RECEIVE THE SECOND SEMESTER PAYMENT, THE SAME INFORMATION PLUS PROOF OF SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF PRIOR SEMESTER (COPY OF GRADES SHOWING A MINIMUM OF 2.0 GPA) MUST BE PROVIDED.
THE NEODESHA PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP IS AVAILABLE TO USD 461 GRADUATES MEETING THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS: -CUMULATIVE GPA OF 2.5 OR HIGHER -ACT OF 20 OR HIGHER (BACHELOR'S DEGREE AWARD ONLY) -COMPLETED REQUIRED NUMBER OF COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS FOR THE GRADUATING CLASS. STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT A PROMISE APPLICATION BY MARCH 1ST OF THEIR GRADUATING YEAR. SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS ARE THEN REVIEWED BY THE NEODESHA PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE. STUDENTS WILL BE NOTIFIED OF THEIR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD BY MAIL AND EMAIL. THERE ARE NO RESTRICTIONS BASED UPON RACE OR EMPLOYMENT OF A PROSPECTIVE RECIPIENT. STUDENTS MUST SUBMIT THEIR BILLING STATEMENT AND SCHEDULE TO THE NEODESHA PROMISE ADMINISTRATOR PRIOR TO RECEIVING THEIR SCHOLARSHIPS EACH SEMESTER. SCHOLARSHIP CHECKS WILL PAY UP TO TUITION AND MANDATORY FEES AT THE HIGHEST IN-STATE PUBLIC INSTITUTION. STUDENTS RECEIVING THE BACHELOR'S AWARD WILL RECEIVE UP TO 372.00 PER CREDIT HOUR. STUDENTS RECEIVING THE ASSOCIATES/TECHNICAL AWARD WILL RECEIVED UP TO 200.00 PER CREDIT HOUR. PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP CHECKS WILL BE SENT DIRECTLY TO THEIR POST SECONDARY INSTITUTION. TO MAINTAIN THE NEODESHA PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN A GPA OF 2.5 OR HIGHER AT THEIR INSTITUTION OF CHOICE. STUDENTS FALLING BENEATH THE 2.5 GPA FOR TWO SEMESTERS OF THEIR EDUCATION WILL LOSE THEIR SCHOLARSHIP. STUDENTS ARE REQUIRED TO SUBMIT THEIR GRADES FOR THE PREVIOUS SEMESTER PRIOR TO RECEIVING THEIR SCHOLARSHIP AWARD FOR THE NEXT SEMESTER.
