EDUCATION AND AWARENESS: CONDUCTS SEMINARS FOR PROFESSIONALS WHO WORK WITH SURVIVORS OF TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURY AND FAMILIES. CONDUCTS COMMUNITY EDUCATION AND BRAIN INJURY AWARENESS EVENTS.
INFORMATION AND REFERRAL: PROGRAM DIRECTOR AND OTHER STAFF CONDUCT MEETINGS WITH SURVIVORS AND FAMILIES OF TRAUMATIC BRAIN INJURIES AND OPERATE TELEPHONE HOTLINE. PROVIDE RESOURCE MATERIALS AND INFORMATION TO PROFESSIONALS AND THOSE DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY BRAIN INJURY.
PREVENTION: ANNUALLY THE ASSOCIATION PARTICIPATES IN COMMUNITY SAFETY FAIRS AND GIVES AWAY BICYCLE HELMETS TO CHILDREN IN NEED. WITH EACH HELMET, THE CHILD IS EDUCATED ON THE IMPORTANCE OF WEARING THE HELMET CORRECTLY TO PREVENT BRAIN INJURY. STAFF EDUCATES SCHOOL STUDENTS ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF BRAIN INJURY PREVENTION STRATEGIES.
