THE MISSION OF GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF KANSAS IS TO PROVIDE OPPORTUNITIES FOR PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT SEEKING INDEPENDENT AND PRODUCTIVE LIVES. GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF KANSAS STRIVES TO IMPROVE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR PEOPLE OF ALL AGES, REGARDLESS OF DISABILITY.

GOODWILL INDUSTRIES OF KANSAS UTILIZES ITS RETAIL STORES TO PROVIDE TRAINING AND EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES TO PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES AND OTHER BARRIERS TO EMPLOYMENT. EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES ARE AVAILABLE IN EVERY COMMUNITY STORE LOCATION. GOODWILL ACCEPTS CLOTHING AND HOUSEHOLD WARES FROM THE PUBLIC AND SELLS THESE ITEMS IN OUR RETAIL STORES. THE NET REVENUE FROM THESE ITEMS PROVIDES FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR ONGOING AND DEVELOPMENT OF VOCATIONAL PROGRAMS.
THE EDUCATION PROGRAM IS FOR ADULTS (16+) WHO HAVE NOT RECEIVED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMAS. ABOUT 602 ADULTS ARE SERVED BY THE PROGRAM TO IMPROVE THEIR LITERACY SKILLS AND WORK TOWARD ACHIEVING THEIR GED. STUDENTS ARE GUIDED THROUGH THE PROGRAM BY LICENSED INSTRUCTORS. LAST YEAR 86 ADULTS PASSED THEIR GED EXAM AND RECEIVED THEIR HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA.
