ASSISTANCE LEAGUE OF OMAHA IS A NON-PROFIT 501(C)3 VOLUNTEER SERVICE ORGANIZATION WHOSE MEMBERS IDENTIFY, DEVELOP, IMPLEMENT, AND FUND ONGOING PHILANTHROPIC PROGRAMS TO SERVE SPECIFIC NEEDS OF CHILDREN AND ADULTS IN THE GREATER OMAHA AREA.

OPERATION SCHOOL BELL - WORKS TO IMPROVE SELF ESTEEM AND SCHOOL ATTENDANCE OF OVER 3,550 CHILDREN IN NEED, FROM PUBLIC TO PAROCHIAL SCHOOLS IN THE GREATER OMAHA AREA, BY PROVIDING NEW CLOTHING, SHOES, AND AGE APPROPRIATE BOOKS.


ASSAULT SURVIVOR KITS - PROVIDES NEW SEASON APPROPRIATE CLOTHING AND HYGIENE PRODUCTS TO VICTIMS OF ASSAULT THROUGH HOSPITALS IN THE GREATER OMAHA AREA. OVER 500 KITS PROVIDED EACH YEAR.


OTHER PROGRAM SERVICES PROVIDED SUCH AS OPERATION LITERACY, OPERATION BEAR HUG, OPERATION RECOVERY AND OPERATION TEEN PARENT. OPERATION LITERACY PROVIDES NEW AND GENTLY USED BOOKS TO CHILDREN AND ADULTS TO PROMOTE LITERACY. OPERATION BEAR HUG PROVIDES NEW TEDDY BEARS TO COMFORT CHILDREN IN A CRISIS SITUATION. OPERATION RECOVERY PROVIDES HOUSEHOLD ITEMS, REFRESHMENTS FOR HOLIDAY PARTIES, HYGIENE PRODUCTS AND VOUCHERS FOR CLOTHING FROM ALO THRIFT STORES FOR THE WOMEN RECOVERING FROM DRUG AND/OR ALCOHOL DEPENDENCY. OPERATION TEEN PARENT OFFERS INCENTIVE TO ENCOURAGE YOUNG PARENTS TO COMPLETE THEIR HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION, INCLUDING SCHOLARSHIPS FOR POST SECONDARY EDUCATION.
