TO PROVIDE FREE TRIPS FOR UNITED STATES VETERANS OF WORLD WAR II, THE KOREAN WAR, THE VIET NAM WAR AND PURPLE HEART RECIPIENTS OF ANY WAR, TO WASHINGTON DC TO VISIT THE MEMORIALS BUILT IN THEIR HONOR. WE CONDUCT OTHER FUNCTIONS TO ENCOURAGE COMMUNITY PARTICIPATION SO OTHERS MAY HEAR AND LEARN FROM THESE VETERANS' STORIES.

MAY 15 16, 2022 HIGH PLAINS HONOR FLIGHT TOOK 122 VETERANS TO DC WITH 61 GUARDIANSTO WASHINGTON DC TO VISIT THEIR MEMORIALS.IN PRIOR YEARS, HIGH PLAINS HONOR FLIGHT HAS TAKEN MORE THAN 2840 VETERANS FROM WORLDWAR II, THE KOREAN WAR, THE VIETNAM WAR AND PURPLE HEART RECIPIENTS FROM MORE RECENTCONFLICTS TO WASHINGTON, DC TO VISIT THE MEMORIALS BUILT IN THEIR HONOR. THIS TRIP ISNO COST TO THE VETERANS. THE CHARTER FLIGHTS BEGAN IN SEPTEMBER 2008 AND WITH THELAST FLIGHT IN 2022, NOW TOTAL 23. THIS IS AN ALL-VOLUNTEER EFFORT WITH OVER 1,000VOLUNTEER GUARDIANS MAKING THESE FLIGHTS TO ASSIST THE VETERANS SINCE INCEPTION.
