THROUGHOUT 2023, UNLOOP ENGAGED 32 PARTICIPANTS. OF THE 32 PARTICIPANTS SERVED, 38% IDENTIFIED AS WOMEN OR INTERSEX WHILE 62% IDENTIFIED AS MEN. ADDITIONALLY, 71% IDENTIFIED AS BLACK OR AFRICAN AMERICAN, HISPANIC OR LATINO OR OF SPANISH ORIGIN, NATIVE HAWAIIAN OR OTHER PACIFIC ISLANDER, OR MIXED. 29% IDENTIFIED AS WHITE. ALL PARTICIPANTS WERE IMPACTED BY THE JUSTICE SYSTEM. FOUR PARTICIPANTS OBTAINED EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THIS PERIOD. ONE PARTICIPANT EARNED AN APPRENTICESHIP AT DROPBOX THAT WAS THEN CONVERTED INTO A FULL-TIME POSITION. A SECOND PARTICIPANT OBTAINED AN INTERNSHIP IN 2022 THAT THEN CONVERTED TO A FULL-TIME POSITION IN 2023. TWO ADDITIONAL PARTICIPANTS OBTAINED THEIR FIRST SOFTWARE ENGINEERING CONTRACTS AS FREELANCE DEVELOPERS. AN ADDITIONAL FOUR PARTICIPANTS COMPLETED SOFTWARE ENGINEERING TRAINING PROGRAMS AND TWO PARTICIPANTS ENROLLED IN COLLEGE COURSES. IN TERMS OF VOLUNTEER AND COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, UNLOOP RECRUITED 13 NEW VOLUNTEERS AND ENGAGED 27 VOLUNTEERS OVERALL. WE PARTNERED WITH COMPANIES LIKE STRIPE AND STARBUCKS TO CONDUCT MOCK INTERVIEWS AND COMPANY VISITS AS WELL AS CARRY OUT OUR MENTORSHIP PROGRAM.
