PURPLE HEART HOMES, INC., COLORADO FRONT RANGE CHAPTER IS DEDICATED TO PROVIDING HOUSING FOR SERVICE-CONNECTED DISABLED VETERANS THAT IS SUBSTANTIAL IN FUNCTION, DESIGN, AND QUALITY, FIT TO WELCOME HOME THE FIGHTING MEN AND WOMEN OF AMERICA.

FIRST ACCOMPLISHMENT:THE HOUSING NEEDS OF APPROVED VETERANS WHICH PURPLE HEART HOMES, INC., COLORADO FRONT RANGE CHAPTER ASSISTS ARE OFTEN TIMES URGENT. THE CHAPTERS'S ABILITY TO ADDRESS THESE NEEDS IN A TIMELY AND EFFECTIVE MANNER DEPENDS HEAVILY ON THE FINANCIAL AND MATERIAL CONTRIBUTIONS OF INDIVIDUAL DONORS, FOUNDATIONS, AND BUSINESSES. WHEN THE URGENT HOUSING NEEDS OF APPROVED VETERANS ARE MET, THE VETERANS' QUALITY OF LIFE IMPROVES AS THEY ARE ABLE TO LIVE IN A SAFE AND ACCESSIBLE HOME.OPERATION VETERAN HOME RENOVATION (OVHR), A CAMPAIGN THAT WORKS IN TANDEM WITH NATIONAL LEAGUE OF CITIES AND CREDIT UNIONS AROUND THE COUNTRY, PROCEEDED WITH ITS THIRD YEAR IN 2019. PURPLE HEART HOMES, INC., COLORADO FRONT RANGE CHAPTER'S MISSION WAS ABLE TO REACH EVEN MORE VETERANS ACROSS THE STATE WITH COORDINATED EFFORTS FROM COMMUNITY PARTNERS. THE OVHR CAMPAIGN SPREAD AWARENESS AND SOLUTIONS TO VETERANS IN REGIONS THAT WERE UNTOUCHED BY THE CHAPTER IN THE PAST.THE CHAPTER'S THREE LARGEST PROJECTS STARTED AND COMPLETED IN 2019:1. THE LARGEST PROJECT WAS FOR A FEMALE VETERAN IN COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO. THE PROJECT WAS A JOINT VENTURE WITH TEAM DEPOT. THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED BY CONTRACTORS, VOLUNTEERS AND CHAPTER BOARD MEMBERS. THE PROJECT INVOLVED INSTALLING A RAMP, NEW WASHER & DRYER, NEW DOORS AND A SECURITY SYSTEM. ALSO A COMPLETE BACKYARD MAKEOVER WAS DONE FOR THE VETERAN TO ENJOY.2. THE SECOND LARGEST PROJECT WAS FOR A FEMALE VETERAN IN COLORADO SPRINGS, COLORADO. THE PROJECT WAS COMPLETED BY CHAPTER MEMBERS AND HEATING AND COOLING CONTRACTORS. THE PROJECT INVOLVED INSTALLING A NEW HEATING AND COOLING SYSTEM AS WELL AS NEW ELECTRIC PANELS TO KEEP THE VETERAN WARM IN THE WINTER AND COOL IN THE SUMMER.3. THE THIRD LARGEST PROJECT WAS FOR A VETERAN IN THORNTON, COLORADO. THIS PROJECT WAS COMPLETED BY CHAPTER MEMBERS AND HOME DEPOT CONTRACTORS. THE PROJECT INVOLVED INSTALLING A HANDICAPPED ACCESSIBLE BATHROOM, NEW FLOORING TO PROVIDE VETERAN BETTER MOBILITY IN HIS WHEELCHAIR, AND INSTALLATION OF SECURITY SYSTEM FOR THE VETERAN'S SAFETY.
