MOLLIE SPENCER FARMS MISSION IS TO PROVIDE EDUCATIONAL OPPORTUNITIES THAT PROMOTE ANIMAL WELL-BEING, SUPPORT REGIONAL HISTORY, AND CELEBRATE A SENSE OF COMMUNITY PRIDE IN YUKON, OKLAHOMA.

IN 2023, SEVERAL COFFEE CONVERSATION EVENTS FEATURING LOCAL SPEAKERS WERE HELD ON TOPICS INCLUDING GARDENING, COMPOSTING, AND BEEKEEPING. THE FARM ALSO HOSTED TWO OPEN HOUSE EVENTS AND THE 2ND ANNUAL MONARCH FESTIVAL. IN PARTNERSHIP WITH THE OKLAHOMA CITY AUDUBON SOCIETY, BIRD WALKS TOOK PLACE ON THE FARM, INCLUDING TWO WALKS AIMED AT BEGINNERS DURING WHICH OCAS MEMBERS GUIDED ATTENDEES AND TAUGHT THEM ABOUT PROPER BINOCULAR USE AND LISTENING FOR BIRD CALLS. THE ANNUAL EASTER ON THE PRAIRIE, STIRLING CLASSIC, AND CHISHOLM TRAIL FESTIVALS WERE HELD AND SAW LARGE NUMBERS OF ATTENDEES. THE PARTNERSHIP BETWEEN THE MOLLIE SPENCER FARM AND THE OKLAHOMA CONTEMPORARY STUDIO SCHOOL CONTINUED TO GROW AND RESULTED IN TWO WATERCOLOR WORKSHOPS HOSTED AT THE FARM AND A COFFEE CONVERSATION EVENT ABOUT WOOL FROM THE FARM BEING USED BY STUDIO SCHOOL STUDENTS. IN JANUARY, ONE OF THE RESCUED LONGHORNS GAVE BIRTH TO A CALF NAMED SPENCER. ADDITIONALLY, THE MOLLIE SPENCER FARM CONTINUES TO PROVIDE RESIDENCE TO SHEEP, DONKEYS, COWS, FOSTER HORSES, AND HONEYBEES ON THE PROPERTY.
