WOMAN TO WOMAN MENTORING, INC. W2WM IS A COMMUNITY-BASED ORGANIZATION THAT DEVELOPS, IMPLEMENTS AND OPERATES MENTORING PROGRAMS THAT SERVE WOMEN IN FREDERICK, MARYLAND. W2WM OFFERS MENTOR-MATCH SERVICES, LIFE-SKILL AND LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS, MENTORING CIRCLES- DESIGNED TO HELP WOMEN MOVE FORWARD IN LIFE AND COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS DESIGNED TO HELP WOMEN GAIN ACCESS TO INFORMATIONAL INTERVIEWS, JOBS, SERVICES AND VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES. THROUGH ITS CORE PROGRAM, W2WM STAFF INTERVIEW, GET TO KNOW AND MATCH YOUNG WOMEN BETWEEN THE AGES OF 18-35, WITH VOLUNTEER MENTORS. COHORTS FORM AT THREE DIFFERENT TIMES A YEAR, THEY WORK TOGETHER FOR 6-8 MONTHS. THROUGH-OUT THE PROGRAM, MENTORING PAIRS SPEND 2-4 HOURS EACH MONTH IDENTIFYING AND WORKING TOWARDS THE MENTEES PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL GOALS. DURING THE YEAR W2WM ALSO COLLABORATED WITH VOLUNTEER SUBJECT MATTER EXPERTS, TO DEVELOP, FACILITATE AND IMPLEMENT MORE THAN 30 LIFE SKILLS WORKSHOPS FOR THE MENTORING PAIRS AND OTHER COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO ATTEND. IN 2017 W2WM COLLABORATED WITH REPRESENTATIVES FROM LOCAL COLLEGES AND STEM COMPANIES TO DEVELOP THE WOMEN IN STEM MENTORSHIP(WISM) PROGRAM. WISM IS SIMILAR TO THE CORE PROGRAM, EXPECT THE PROGRAM IS DESIGNED TO SERVE UNDERGRADUATE WOMEN PURSUING STEM CAREER PATHS, WITH SPECIFIC STEM LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS AND MENTOR-MATCHES WITH STEM PROFESSIONALS. TO DATE W2WM HAS SERVED MORE THAN 400 WOMEN.
