Describe the Organization's Program Activity:

Part 3

CCYG PROVIDES A SUMMER SHOTGUN SHOOTING PROGRAM TO BISMARCK/MANDAN AREA YOUTH. THE PROGRAM IN 2023 RAN FROM JUNE 7TH THROUGH AUGUST 2ND ON WEDNESDAY EVENINGS. THE INSTRUCTION FOR THE PROGRAM IS PROVIDED BY CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS THAT VOLUNTEER WITH CCYG. THE PROGRAM WAS ABLE TO PROVIDE THE PROGRAM TO 50 YOUTH; 30 NEW STUDENTS AND 20 RETURNING STUDENTS. THERE IS USUALLY ALWAYS A WAITLIST OF OTHER STUDENTS THAT WOULD LIKE TO PARTICIPATE, BUT THE PROGRAM IS LIMITED TO ONLY THE 50 STUDENTS CURRENTLY DUE TO THE NUMBER OF CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS NEEDED TO PROVIDE THE PROGRAM. THE BOARD CONTINUES TO LOOK FOR WAYS TO FIND ADDITIONAL CERTIFIED INSTRUCTORS TO EXPAND THE REACH OF THE PROGRAM TO ADDITIONAL STUDENTS. THE PROGRAM BREAKS THE PARTICIPANTS/STUDENTS UP BY SKILL LEVEL TO ENSURE THAT STUDENTS ARE WITH OTHERS WITH SIMILAR EXPERIENCE TO THEM AND HELP THE INSTRUCTORS KNOW THE SKILL LEVEL OF STUDENTS WHEN PROVIDING THEIR INSTRUCTION. THE PROGRAM IS COMPLETELY FREE TO STUDENTS WITH SHOTGUNS OR BB GUNS PROVIDED BY CCYG ALONG WITH THE SHELLS/BB'S AND THE CLAY TARGETS. THIS IS POSSIBLE FROM GENEROUS DONATIONS FROM DONORS AND THE VOLUNTEER INSTRUCTORS AND BOARD. THE FOCUS OF THE INSTRUCTION AND TRAINING IS ALWAYS SAFETY FIRST WITH OTHER IMPORTANT SKILLS SECONDARY, SUCH AS EYE DOMINANCE, BASIC MOUNT AND STANCE, GUN FIT, ETC.
