CAPITAL CITY YOUNG GUNS (CCYG) OFFERS A 3-MONTH SUMMER PROGRAM, THREE TIMES A WEEK, YOUTH SKILLS PROGRAM TO ENHANCE THE YOUTH PARTICIPANT'S SHOOTING ABILITY. THIS PROGRAM IS RAN BY 3 NSCA REGISTERED INSTRUCTORS WITH THE SUPPORT OF 8 ADDITIONAL VOLUNTEERS. THE NUMBER OF YOUTH THAT PARTICIPATE IN THIS PROGRAM SINCE STARTUP HAS INCREASED 10-15% EACH YEAR (YEAR 1 INCLUDED 6-7 KIDS/WEEK, YEAR 2 INCLUDED 3-5 KIDS/NIGHT, YEAR 3 INCLUDED 8-10 KIDS/NIGHT). THIS PROGRAM IS PROMOTED THROUGHT THE DISTRIBUTION OF BROCHURES TO DIFFERENT ESTABLISHMENTS PROMOTING OUR DATES/TIMES FOR THE PROGRAM. CCYG ALSO PROVIDES A YOUTH FUN DAY EACH YEAR, WHICH IS A HALF DAY EVENT TO PROMOTE OUR SUMMER PROGRAM. THIS EVENT ALSO INCLUDES AN INTRODUCTION FOR NEW YOUTH TO SHOOTING SPORTS. THE YOUTH FUN DAY IS LIMITED TO 40 YOUTH AND IS FULL OR NEARLY FULL EVERY YEAR. CCYG PROVIDES SHOT GUNS THAT STUDENTS MAY USE IF THEY DON'T HAVE THEIR OWN SHOT GUN. CCYG ALSO PROVIDES THE SHOT GUN SHELLS AND CLAY TARGETS FREE OF CHARGE FOR ALL STUDENTS IN THE SUMMER PROGRAM AND AT THE YOUTH FUN DAY TO ENSURE THAT MONEY IS NOT A BARRIER TO STUDENTS WANTING TO GET INVOLVED IN THE PROGRAM.
