TECHNICA HACKS NOW SERVES THOUSANDS OF HACKERS OVER 6 CONTINENTS. BELOW IS A SUMMARY OF ITS ACCOMPLISHMENTS FOR 2022. WE WELCOMED OVER 1200 TOTAL HACKERS, BOTH IN-PERSON AND VIRTUALLY, ACROSS 15 COUNTRIES AND 4 CONTINENTS. WE IMPLEMENTED A HYBRID EVENT FORMAT AND ORGANIZED A HACKATHON THAT PROVIDES THE ABILITY TO ATTEND BOTH IN-PERSON AND VIRTUALLY. WE EXPANDED OUR REACH AND IMPACT BY HOSTING REGULAR EVENTS, WORKSHOPS, AND PROGRAMS THROUGHOUT THE YEAR, AND STAYING IN TOUCH WITH OUR COMMUNITY THROUGH DISCORD AND MONTHLY NEWSLETTERS. WE HAD A FOCUS ON EVENT DIVERSITY, ACCESSIBILITY & INCLUSIVITY BY CHANGING TO A MORE ACCESSIBLE VENUE, UTILIZING ALTERNATIVE TEXT AND CLOSED CAPTIONING, INVITING INTERPRETERS, AND REACHING OUT TO MORE DIVERSE SPEAKERS AND ATTENDEES. WE BROUGHT BACK THE IN-PERSON HACKATHON EXPERIENCE VIA BUS TRAVEL TO AND FROM UNIVERSITIES, REIMBURSING FLIGHTS AND DRIVES, AND OFFERING HOTEL ROOMS FOR THE FIRST TIME.
