OYA WAS RECENTLY AWARDED A $50,000 GRANT BY SENATOR KARL ALLEN AND THE S OUTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES IN FALL OF 2023 TO PROVIDE $13,000 WORTH OF FREE COUNSELING TO YOUTH AND TEENS AND OTHER TYPES OF HEALING ARTS PROGRAMMING.CURRENTLY IN POST PRO-PRODUCTION FOR A MENTAL HEALTH SHORT FILM CALLED THE WEIGHT WE CARRY DIRECTED, WRITTEN AND PRODUCED BY OYA EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR, BRITTNEY BRACKETT.HELD FIRST SUCCESSFUL YOUTH WELLNESS RETREAT SPONSORED BY THE SPINKS FAMILY FOUNDATION IN MAY 2023 WITH MORE THAN 30 ATTENDEES.HOSTED A SUICIDE PREVENTION WORKSHOP AT BIG AIR TRAMPOLINE PARK FOR MORE THAN 60 STUDENTS A FEW YEARS AGO.PRODUCED MORE THAN 20 MENTAL HEALTH PSAS RECORDED BY YOUTH AMBASSADORS FOR REJOICE 96.9 FOR MINDFULNESS IN MAY 2023 ACROSS THE AIRWAVES TO OVER 10,000+ VIEWERS PER DAY FOR A MONTH .BRACKETTS MINDFULNESS ACTIVITY BOOK, MY SAFE PLACE, HAS WON MORE THAN 8 BOOK AWARDS SINCE MAY 2022 WHEN THE BOOK DEBUTED.
